Are we thinking Mexican or American? If Mexican...

I would be all in for an Esquire! I've had to restring a lot of Bigsbys at the shop and I really can't say that I like them. I'm also really into making guitars as light as they can be, so for those reasons I'd much prefer something without a Bigsby. Also, I'm all for keeping the price relatively low so as many people as possible could jump on board for it. No Bigsby would probably be cheaper, and those who want Bigsbys could always add them later. But in the end, if it had a Bigsby it wouldn't be the end of the world for me, so I'd be in either way. :)

If American...

College. Car. Taxes. Boring grown up stuff costs a lot of money.

The place of origin and price point have yet to be determined but if you have no objections I'll put you down for the Esquire w/o Bigsby.

    Cheers!

You can put me down as being in favour of the Bigsby.
I do have one concern about the Bigsby though.
I've played a few but never owned one.
I am assuming a hard shell case is problematic.
I'm not a fan of gig bags.
Not even a little bit.
Any guitar I've acquired that came with a gig bag, I bought a proper case and sold the bag.
I'll assume any case that accommodates a Bigsby will come at a premium.
I am prepared for that and willing to cough up a little extra for it.
It just doesn't sit right with me to create a custom guitar and not have a proper case.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Looking at the numbers thus far, I would propose that , in the final tally the 'w/w/wo' people cast vote with the 'w/o's thus, all will be satisfied. Any thoughts?

Based upon the opinions here, the Bigsby is an either or for

Maybe they'll build it both ways. :?:

I think that would be a good idea and a viable option for those on all three sides of the Bigsby fence. The with side, the without side, and the with-or-without side. I'm not sure how the Bigsby option would affect the bottom-line but the one suggested by Boxbang (Vibramate) can be installed without further modifications such as drilling holes. http://i674.photobucket.com/albums/vv10 ... Cheers!
