Two things -

I also like the esquire idea - am not crazy about a Bigsby on it, but more because of cost than anything else, so that still comes down to whether the price would be right. If it adds, say, £40 or £50, I could swallow that for something unique.

I'm also still not crazy about the massive logo on the pickguard, to me it doesn't fit with the inherent simplicity/ethos of an esquire. It's like putting earrings on a carthorse. But, I could change that easily and for beans, so that's no biggy either.

So, I guess I'm 'in' for an esquire too...

Incidentally (a third thing ), for those who mentioned the Fender discussion page strat, one was very recently on eBay, here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281076125095

The style, colour, configuration and hardware aspects will obviously be harder to pin down. I'm still chewing on the Esquire idea. Hasn't really bitten me yet but I'm mulling on it.

Yeah I agree. This is why I think it needs to be kept simple. We all have our own preferences, ideas, etc..

As for the esquire, I'm content. Not ecstatic, but I could grow to love it. The other idea which I thought was a brilliant one was Brad's suggestion for the pictured Strat on the forums logo. Butterscotch Blonde, maple fretboard, 50's V neck carve, Texas specials, black/red/black pickguard (taken from forum logo pick which is black with red contrast) black pickup covers, aged white controls. That's how I would do it, simple and its in line with what most buyers would go for. Im happy either way.

Ditto this - that strat would be sweeet too.

Hey, Brad! Good to hear from you.
I rang the bell almost two weeks ago but there was no answer. I guess you were indisposed.

    Cheers!

......which I also prefer for a variety of reasons, and is also do-able as is the lighter finish.

Thanks Kyle, that is the guitar :D I like the bigsby (I'm still thinking about it 8)) though some may not, so, when Brad is available perhaps he will have a short list of FSR options for us and then we will all start communicating on the ways to make it unique for the Fender Lounge Forum with and without the short list of options. I just really like the Esquire style and one way or another I feel GAS coming on :D

I never paid much notice to the Esquire until now. There's something 'sexy' about just that one bridge pup, especially combined with the 6 unit bridge and Biggy. I have memories of playing perhaps a Tele, more years ago than I would care to remember. It's seemed a strange guitar to me then. You know I've spoken of the Tele Plus I let go of years back. That one should have been a keeper but I had other fish to fry at the time.

Yes Kyle absolutely. I forgot to say thanks for posting the pic without the logo, that will help with putting together the potential finished FSR Fender Lounge guitar's fresh look.

Seems logical to me to copy the Strat in the logo. I'd dig it.

What's everyone's preference to: (assuming Esquire)

Wood - Ash

Neck profile - Modern "C"

Radius - 7.25"

Pickups - Custom

These are essential specs that haven't been addressed much.

Also, what's the top price you'd be willing to pay?

I assume this would run between 900 - 1400?
