I had suggested that we discuss the broad strokes while awaiting Brad's arrival, but since people are jumping right to the spec phase of this project I've decided to join the party, share the fun, and put forth my dream spec sheet for the FSR Fender Lounge Guitar. :D

MSRP: $2899 :?

I think that's a bit high even for a MSRP. I'm thinking my specs are probably in the American Standard price range so ...

    MSRP: $ 1,679.99
    Street Price: $1,199.99
Fender Forum Member Regular Price: $839.99
Fender Forum Member Advanced Sale Price: $749.99

Cheers!

What will keep the price down is no customization, and the use of less costly materials and labor.

If you read this whole thread (yes I did) you will see overwhelming support for a Telecaster based guitar, even though most of us play Strats (me too)

SK's Esquire is the only idea with anything resembling a consensus.

I'm no bean-counter but here goes.

*Classic Vibe Squier Telecaster in Blond minus the neck pup (or the equivalent MIM Tele)

*US made Bigsby with a non permanent mount.

*Black bakelite PG. I've seen these on ebay for about $30.

*Bridge pup - hmm maybe something special, dunno.

Of course not everyone loves it (I do) ,but this would appeal to the largest number of people IMO.

Goodnyaz ...Mark.

A tele is a good idea and I'm in favour of both models. However if we are wanting to put a fender forum logo on a Tele that has a Strat on it- perhaps we may want to think about that. Having a picture of a Stratocaster on a Telecaster or Esquire pickguard. To me, it looks weird and having it big on the pickguard is too 'in your face'.

The idea of drawing inspiration of the guitar in the 'Fender Lounge' is a very good idea. Spec out an MiM Std to be the FSR spec of the lounge guitar- and there we have it. Or an American special.. Sky is the limit really :)

Hmm, ... I'm liking this look more than I thought I would.

If it's not too much trouble, could you show us a Strat body & neck with Tele pickguard, pups, and switches.

Thanks & Cheers!

It appears that we all agree to disagree on certain ideas, designs, concepts and even guitar choice = not a good thing.

I guess I'll hope for a #x out of #xx Esquire model that I like and if it turns out to be something I don't like, I won't buy one.

Three months of discussion and not much else to say anymore.

Curiouser and curiouser. I'm in full agreement. It's time for Brad to sum up. I'm done.

Two more suggestions for the Performer:

1. A Roland tuning system like the one on the VG-5, w/ two batteries, please.

2. Locking strap buttons.

Don't forget to make the bridge with a locking feature that will turn the floating bridge into a fixed bridge upon the flick of a latch!

Now that would be one guitar that does it all!

You guys seem to be expecting a lot from the FSR Lounge guitar. The more features you put into it the more expensive it gets, keeping it away from a lot of Lounge Lizards.
