You'll never get a concensus on the specs to make something like this worthwhile for Fender to build.
I have a hunch that if a hundred forum members were asked to submit specs for the Lounge Guitar we would have at least one hundred proposals and possibly more.

I don't know if this would be viable or if it even makes any sense from a company's point of view, but what if the great folks at Fender issued a single model, Limited Edition American Standard Strat to promote the Fender Forums. The guitar would be available to everyone but offered at a significant discount for forum members. Specs would be what ever Fender decides.

What do you think? Possible or totally out to lunch in left field?

Cheers!

After wading thru this thread and the impossible to please everybody suggestions put forth I think Bluer has put up one of the most sane ideas yet. Better yet Fender could just sell commerative neckplates to put on our existing instruments. I know I could afford that.

Will they do me a scratchplate to go on my Les Paul? It doesn't have a neck plate.

Don't forget about the "significant" discount for Forum Members.

Put the neck plate on your '57VHR, if it still has a home with you.

At this point I'm comfortable with the idea of a peel off pickguard logo, or a neck plate.

That's up to Fender but I could see a 1% discount to members.
