been a while since i posted, been way too busy since i went back to work.
today while shaving (not observing no shave november like most of everyone i know)
i got a new guitar build idea in my head. i want to find a cheap squier strat (hopefully at a pawn shop for around 60 bucks or so) , put a hotrail in the neck and a cool rail in the bridge. nothing in the middle, make a custom pickguard with no sloppy un-used hole there.... anyway, the big idea being that i'd somehow fabricate some bathroom sink style knobs with a fancy "H" and "C" (hot and cold) on them instead of volume or tone...
and then wire it up so that the hot knob controls the vol on the hotrail and the cold obviously controls the coolrails. no tone, but for a selector switch maybe come up with an idea on how to make a push/pull switch that looks like the little thing you pull up on to close the drain on the bathroom sink. hmmmm..... maybe a black and white tile paint job?
anyway.... just an idea for now. but the idea of it made me laugh, what do you think?

I saw a black Starcaster with one bridge humbucker (change that for one that talks) and volume knob. 99.99 at GC, tucked up high behind another display, a little ruff but a very inexpensive Jerry Cantrell clone. Great minds think alike

That might just be the dumbest, yet coolest idea I've ever heard. I want one!

i've got a modified MIM strat with just a hot rail and a volume knob. its much hotter than the stock pu and slightly milder than my charvels. nice change for the heavy yet mild tone i sometimes want.
i hope you get your next build idea after attending a topless bar.

haha, rip, drain hole. definitely going to be including that now. for sure. i'm excited about this build. I've already got the hotrail in my beater strat. been thinking about putting it into my new fender, though. i'm searching CL for some deals. once I get the body and the pups together i'll start a build thread.
