Hi guys I made what I think is a pretty awesome trade today. I traded the signed Duff McKagan Bass I won last year for a Gibson Historic 1957 Les Paul Jr. in TV yellow. I plugged it into my Marshall Class 5 and I think I'm in tone heaven. I need to put new strings on her and it could use a truss rod adjustment, but I think I'm in love. After all I've heard about P-90s being so noisy, I was pleasantly surprised it is not that noisy at all and sounds great through the Class 5. Very vintage vibe in Casa de Kong today. I started to think about what this rig cost me. The Gibby was basically free as I traded a guitar that I won in a contest and the Class 5 cost me $100 plus an old Teisco I had also gotten for free. Probably the nicest $100 rig I've ever heard of.

Here are some pics of the Junior as well as the bass I traded. Both parties seemed genuinely happy with the trade (I know that I'm thrilled).

Kong, as a bass guitar player I would have kept the Duff, but, you seem happy so, I'm happy for you Bro, have fun with your new LP. :D

Thanks for the comments guys. There was a slight wrinkle, the guy I traded with expressed some remorse today I'm not going to get into specifics. Anyway let's say there was an aspect of the Duff Bass he didn't realize and it caused him distress and mentioned that he probably would not have traded had he been more aware. He said it was his fault for not noticing or knowing and didn't blame me (not a condition issue).

I immediately offered to let him out of the trade. He thanked me and told me that was nice of me, but said he'd keep the bass. I told him I'll give him 2 weeks and if he wants out, I'll let him out of the trade no questions. The only reason I put a time limit is that I don't want this hanging over my head any longer than necessary.

I got his message as I was putting new strings on the Les and taking a slight bit of relief out of the neck. The guitar sounds and plays even more beautifully now it is set up to my taste. I used to be one of the guys who "didn't get" this model of Les Paul. Let me tell you, playing and hearing is believing. Now I just have to pray he doesn't change his mind.

If it's ok to ask, what about the Duff bass was the fellow concerned?
