I saw the video just before I came here, can't say it really told me much! I mean ... some guys, a bit of a computer ... then they're in a studio ... the end. Call me old fashioned, I like plugging guitars into amps, not computers.

Yeah, I agree. I just wish there was one for PC, I could have used it for a gig I did with a couple.

The husband sent me the songs as MP3, I plugged in my amp, played the songs on my PC and learned them. But I had to play pretty low volume wise, with Squire Strat, I could had just plugged into the PC, and used headphones.

I have a Cakewalk UA-4FX external audio capture http://tinyurl.com/b9lrfk6, that I use for recording with Reaper and Ableton Live, I could have set it up but that would took longer.

I imagine this wil be the future of all electric guitars/basses. Fender seems to be testing the waters with this model. Squires tend to be marketed more towards the youth market, so this would be the best choice for just such a venture. I can see how this will be handy for digital recording, as well as playing through Ipod, Ipad and the like.

I see that the price is only $199, that with USB, it can be used with a PC. I that price, I'm sorely tempted to buy one. If I don't like, I'll give it to my either my grand-daughter or grand-son, their mom has a iPad.
