*edit* apparently the popular vote results change by the hour!

Honey, we can't go there. Obama won the popular vote and the electoral vote. Reported last night late. It's going to be OK. Believe an ole b... :D

You assume I'm upset about it, I'm not. Neither Obama or Romney got my vote yesterday. I'm a libertarian and refuse to choose for the lesser of two evils. Our system is broken.

The junior senator from Kentucky is a libertarian. Rand Paul. The Libertarian Party is alive and well. Work to build it up and vote for it. Rand is Ron's son. :)

The senior senator from Kentucky is an ideologue and is to be ignored. He loves games more than his country.

Edit: In clarity, I must admit he is the minority leader of the senate.
But to me, ...

I didn't really want to beg for it, but it seems like a good time.

Historically, I believe there have been 14 Democratic presidents and 18 republican presidents. Pretty closely divided I think. Having said that, I don't take political party into consideration when choosing a president, just the man running. The 2012 election was like the Kobayashi Maru in Star Trek - The no win scenario. Neither option was really impressive. For me, instead of choosing the best candidate, it was choosing the lesser of the two evils.

Me too in a way. Since 1980 the man is not similar in any way. The philosophies are all there is to choose from. The Republicans of the wealthy, and the Democrats of the middle class and the poor. A person just has to decide who they are.

And that's how the fool is always fooled. The Democratic Party likes to sell themselves as the party of the common folk. That could not be further from the truth. Both parties belong to the same deep pockets of the elite.[/quote]

Back in 08 Obama got the biggest contributions from the Wall Street folks. Does that sound like someone who didn't owe his presidency to the evil 1%?

But if course MSNBC says that republicans are only for the rich and the democrats are for the poor, so it must be true.

[Rant ON]

I am not a Republican or a Democrat !

I have never held a Party affiliation, nor have I worked for, or donated money to, either Political Party.

The reason..?? Doing so means I have to surrender my own opinion and ability to think !! To be doomed to follow a pre-set script of how and what I should believe.

But, one of the greatest differences, from my perspective between the GOP and DNC is that the GOP is an A' La Carte menu whereas the DNC offers only a Prix Fixe meal. In the DNC, you cannot be for something and not others, it's an all or nothing proposition !!

I have voted in every election, State, Federal and Municipal since 1972.

I have voted 'Blue' and voted 'Red', based upon the Man and their platform, not some one-size-fits-all Political Dogma. Some of my choices turned out to be good for the Country, others, not so much !

I am Anti-obama... not because he's a Democrat, but because he is a Fraud !

I'm not a 'Birther', but yet, I AM unclear about his eligibility to hold the Office. The Birth Certificate issue is only one of the reasons he should be ineligible... look up the Donofrio Amicus Brief filled in a GA court challenge. Clearly, obama is in breach of the Naturalized Citizen requirement and people just don't care (I doubt even 10 people here will look it up), or care about what they read... sort of a Fait a' Compli at this point, but still it's very real.

Also, there is a false reasoning that a 'Robin Hood' approach of taking from the Rich to give to the Poor ever worked.

Then, just do the Math of obama's contribution to the Nat'l. Debt in his 1st 4 years. In summary, if we were to repay just his portion (interest-free, which of course it isn't) at a rate of $1,000,000,000.00/day (and we're currently not repaying any of it), it will take 250+ years to repay it all, and that's just his portion ! This is irrefutable, it's simply Math !

He has saddled America with a multi-generational Debt ! Your Children, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren will hate you for what you've done.

I'm NOT a Romney fan... his best quality is that he's NOT obama (though that's pretty good all by itself), and that was good enough for me. If he had failed to get the job done, we replace him in 4 years - simple.

But obama failed to deliver on ANY of his campaign promises the 1st four years... he failed to do the job he was elected to ! He does not deserve another term. Einstein defined the act of doing something twice and expecting a different result as INSANITY !!

My greatest fear was an obama unconstrained by the need to be re-elected. This is what is now at hand and I can only hope I am wrong, but suspect I'm not.

Unfortunately, many people's need to be part of the Popular Herd has trumped their responsibility as Citizens to the Nation.

Liberalism carries with it a certain Hypocrisy - all Liberals I know are trying to get better pay, they want more than the other guy.

Think I'm wrong..?? Ever buy a Lottery Ticket.. ?? What, were you trying to lose? Were you going to give it all to the Poor? The very fact that you bought one shows you're trying to become the very thing that you're now railling against !!

The only true do-gooders are those like Ghandi and Mother Theresa who divested of their worldly goods to help the poor. ANYTHING short of that is only to soothe your over-stimulated 'Noblese Oblige' syndrome !!

Liberals are total Hypocrites and only thinking of themselves... like many of the upper-class liberals I know who, along with their big houses, eco-vacations, birkenstocks, organic foods and such donate a can to the local food shelf or march with their friends for some cause only to retire to the Wine Bar afterwards and pat themselves on the back that they're actually doing something for the downtrodden.

obama and the Democrats are playing on this and have totally pulled the Wool over your eyes !!

Aren't obama, Biden, Clinton, Kerry (esp. Kerry), Frank, Dodd, Pelosi and such all
1%ers too... ??

Why does that not bother you..??

Why do you support them ..??

The system is broken and can ONLY be fixed by we citizens continually voting out the encumbants for several election cycles until they realize that they're there to do OUR business... and not their own.. !!

THINK PEOPLE.. !!

[Rant OFF]

cheers!

I don't know about him but, I am open to others points of view. You never know, I could be wrong. I was wrong ONCE back in '74. No wait, that was '76. Damn - That's twice I have been wrong now;)

We have not had a good president in a couple of decades, nothing has changed.

For years the West fought Statist Socalism/Communism while at the same time adopting it incrementally.

America has reached a tipping point. We used to be a nation of brave self-reliant-hard working inventors. Now we area half nation that want the State to take care of their every need!

Nations are like human lifes. Born, grow, mature, flourish, grow old, diseased and die. Progressivism is the disease that has killed the West.

But then even the Communists have their problems. Actually Communism merely shifts the the wealthy class from talented businessmen to talented politicians. But in the end you still have a powerful wealthy class. Human folly, the grass is always greener on the other side.

I am not going to say I know a whole lot about the U.S. election because I don't, but I do want to say something about health care. I am a Canadian who does not know what it is like to have to pay for medical services. I know as taxpayers we all pay for it, but I feel very comfortable knowing that if me or my family is ever in need of medical care, I do not have to worry about how I am going to pay for it. I don't understand why some Americans are opposed to this. I think everyone should have peace of mind where personal health is concerned. Now if Canada could only get on board with the UK and add prescription drugs to healthcare.
