You guys had mentioned something about prizes just wondering what would be given away and would there be any vintage products?

You can bet we'll be cooking up some members-only prizes and goodies. Truthfully the sky is the limit but it's literally all hinging on the forum engaging in "self policing" and members refraining from flame wars and the like. In other words, it's kind of a "reward system" -- help us create a killer, healthy Fender online community over the months ahead and the rewards will come!

As for picks starting to highlight, rumor has it that you'll get your first pick at 100 posts. 8)

in regard to the forum rules
with the rule about spamming
with most forums this is not a problem but for future reference saying "bump" to push a topic to the top if theres something important in it is O.K. right?

if the forum is able to 'self police' itself in the future is there a chance that the forums may be able to stay open all the time? they haven't even been around a day and i already miss them at night :( lol

Glad to hear everyone is enjoying the new forums and already "missing' them :D

To answer your questions, I don't think there is a problem in "bumping" threads, however excessive bumping will probably be addressed. But I think we will cross that bridge when we get there.

As far as the time frames in which the forums are open ... There will absolutely be a time when the forums are open 24/7! Initially, we would just like to keep things at a nice gradual pace to see how things develop. If everything goes smoothly and there is enough interest and participation, creating a healthy and positive place for musicians to congregate and talk music and guitars - then by all means, this baby will be opened up 24/7/365!

Yeah, I honestly couldn't care less about bumping posts and whatnot -- what I DO care about is folks yelling at each other, or at us. As long as everyone refrains from the latter behavior you're welcome to use the forums in any way you want.

Well my experience is that Fender owners are a higher level of species say then Gibson owners so that will help out in the policing efforts ;-). In all seriousness I sincerely hope this home away from home for us Fender Fanatics does not turn extreme in either direction.

Thanks Fender!

Just posted the following in another thread: I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record here  but the strict forum hours are yet another issue that is intimately tied to the community members engaging in self-policing, respect for your brethren, and keeping things generally friendly and fun. In a nutshell: prove to us that ya'll can handle yourselves and we'll certainly consider eventually opening things up to 24/7 posting!
