My apologies... I got the impression Fender Strat was defending the use of 100 watt amps, and then repeating himself when nobody chimed in.

Since we're agreeing that's not the case, I might suggest you do your interior monologue off-line. There is no point in talking to yourself in a thread. If you feel you posted something you don't wish to stand, just edit the post.

Most sound guys just seem to be arrogant to me. And the vocals always seem to low once the show actually gets started and one guitar is always too overpowering.

You don't know how many guitar players I have personally seen sound check with their guitars turned down to "6," figuring they'll open 'er up and steal the show once the gig gets underway.

Good sound men get just as sick of dealing with minor rock stars as guitars player say they do dealing with sound men.

When professionals are working on both sides of the board, it always goes real well, though... funny thing, that.

Heh... we used to have this problem at church, but how it usually went was something more like this: Due to the small room we didn't want the monitors to be too loud, so things got mixed low for the monitors. Once the people were all there and the musicians were playing, one of the guitarists would turn up a bit, 'cuz they couldn't hear themselves as well. The bass, drums and other guitar would then turn themselves up to be heard over the first guitarist. Then the guitarist would do it again to be heard over those three. Then those three would...

You get the picture :P

I do. :D

Then, after that stupidly happens on stage, the band walks off and says, "Man, that sound dude SUCKED! And he was mean and arrogant, he kept telling us to turn down and stuff!"

It doesn't make much sense to soundcheck with a vloume you don't plan on using. I always check mine with a volume comparable to what i intend on using during play.

I know that for me, I tend to play louder in the actual performance because I start to feed off the energy of the crowd.
