I feel the same way, Highbinder. I can't stand having lots of "stuff". The more stuff I have, the more stuff that I have to worry about. I just have one guitar (American Standard Strat) and if there was some way to get a more "acoustic" sound out of it it would probably be my only one forever. As soon as I get my hands on a stratacoustic, I'll be out of acquisition mode. 8)

Acoustic sound you say? Let me introduce you to the next upgrade for my strat.. a fishman piezo bridge..

I am quite content with what I do have and realize there are guitars I will likely never have--unless something totally unexpected & unlikely happens.

And I'm okay with that--but I will probably add to my gear, but not because I need to, and not to acquire more, but because I want to & it's something different than what I have already.

But if I never get another one--I'm okay with that. If I get more--I'm okay with that as well.

Have you already made that upgrade? Maybe I will end up owning just one guitar. 8)

I think the wife would kill me if I came home with anymore items. Especially since she bought me my last guitar and said "this is it, you got the one you really wanted. no more f'n guitars!"

No I haven't, but it'll definately be the next upgrade I make! Someone (don't remember the user name) replied in my thread in the Strat forum mentioning they had it installed in one of their guitars.

Just because they're not in that picture doesn't mean I don't have any!

I would like to add a new bass and acoustic guitar to my line of gear, since I play bass as well as guitar. Want to do the bass parts to my songs since what I have composed does not include and bass right now.

I have no desires for any new gear. I am content with what I have.

Thanks, they just sorta added up over the years. It's not really a "collection" in the sense that any of them are "collectible." In fact a lot of them are quite inexpensive, and even the midrange ones, I got good deals on.

Here's a pic that shows them more clearly (and is more up-to-date):

I just need to get a bass and a bass amp to go with my 12 guitars, 4 amps, and dozens of pedals. Then once I get the bass and amp, I can lock myself in my home studio and start working on the greatest album no one will ever hear...LOL.

I still has GAS - my current desktop shows what I want:

a Squier Classic Vibe '50s Telecaster
a Fender Super Champ XD Amp
a Barber Tone Press Compressor Pedal

after that, I think that I will be satisfied for some time.
