Replacing those 9v batteries in my pedals is becoming a real pain, and its not particularly environmentally safe to just toss those old ones in the trash. So I want to connect all my pedals to a Boss AC adapter. I have the AC Adapter and I purchased a multiple connector also made by Boss. This system is actually designed to work with their EQ Pedal which has two power jacks so that you can connect one to the AC Adapter jack and the other to the multi cable. However, I didn't want to buy an EQ Pedal at this time. The multi cable only has male jacks, (these are called female in some books). So, I decided to make my own in-line adapter that would have two female ends to connect the AC Adapter to the multi cable. I order two standard 2.5mm female connectors from DigiKey:

http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail?name=CP-024B-ND

They arrived yesterday and when I went to check the fit, the Boss power connector would not fit in the standard 2.5mm connector. I have other power adapters with the same type of connectors that fit fine. Even the Boss connector fit into my other equipment, (i.e., other brand name pedals, Fostex Tape recorder, etc.).

I was hoping not to have to hack up the adapter cable. Is Boss using some proprietary connector size to force people to have to buy their EQ Pedal? Sure looks like it to me.

What have the rest of you done to get power to your pedals?

I'm using a Dunlop DC-Brick
http://www.jimdunlop.com/index.php?page ... pip&id=286
It gives 7 - 9v taps and 3 - 18v taps.
It came with a bag of all kinds of connectors that fit everything I have so far.

Thanks for your advice but I've realised something aswell. If anyone owns a Digitech pedal, you can use the charger for a BOSS pedal. Random I know!

hands down to me there is know better option than the VHT Valveulator. It is a power box, and a tube line driver/signal buffer. If you ahve read any of my other posts about pedals, i love pedals. I run alot of pedals and i have that and a signal flex to power all of them, but the beauty of the valveulator is it makes your rig sound like you are pluggin strait into the amp!!! The tone of my rig improved greatly when i started usin this little device
