What do you think about the Tube screamer.I want to know if theres actually a tube inside this pedal.Whats it good for? Is it worth the price?

It doesn't have a tube but it sounds good through tube amps. I have a TS9DX Tubescreamer and love the tone.

You should go try one out if you don't have an overdrive pedal. I have a Fender Blues Deluxe which is a tube amp and I love the tone. :P

I don't have a distortion pedal. On a scale of 1 to 10 what is your overall rating and why? What is the playability?

I give mine an 8. It's got 4 different modes of overdrive but I only use one that I really like.

The TS9 / TS-808 are both good, but always better to try them out first :)

There is also the maxon od9 pro and od808 :)
They say they made the insides of the original tube screamers :)

The tube screamer is one of the best pedals of all time imo, so many pedals are copies of it, i use both a ts9 and a ts 10, i love them both, and really wouldnt know what to do with out them. Stevie Ray used a ts 10, and many many other artists have used a tube screamer.

It is not a distortion pedal, but an over drive pedal

I've just been using the digitech distortion pedal and it has suited my needs so far. It certainly isn't anything fancy but it gets the job done.

Its a great pedal - I have personally been using one for years - A good friend of mine is out on tour with a major country act right now, and I was recently with him and he was showing me all the guitar rigs from the other bands and such - every single guitar rig had a tube screamer - the ugly green stood out and it was noticeable on all the rigs

I have seen in several places that SRV used two "Tube Screamers" in series to get his tone.

TS808 has the same circuit design and chip that was in the original screamers from long ago.
TS9 has more modern stuff in it.
