Hey gang, I just wanted to relate and experience I just had with my acoustic/electric. Now I know that humidity is not as big an issue with solidbody electrics as it is with acoustics and semi hollows, but I know I am guilty of not taking precautionary measures to protect my equipment like I should have. I posted here a few weeks ago concerning an issue I was having with my Zagar acoustic/electric guitar. It is made for Denny Zagar (of "In the Year 2525" fame) by Martin and they are sweet guitars. Anyway I noticed that my high E string at the 13th fret was playing an F# instead of F -this was the only thing wrong with the guitar and it was driving me batty. All the other frets on all the other strings were perfect. I emailed Denny and he replied that he thought it was a humidity issue. He recommended one of the humidifiers you can put inside the guitar sound hole as well as a change of strings. Long story short -after a string change and 3 weeks of humidifying (keeping the guitar in it's case with the humidifier) the fret is now perfect. I said all this to say that for $20- if you have acoustic or hollow body guitars, that little item may well be one of the best investments you can make. If I hadn't followed his advice, the guitar eventually may have sustained enough damage to ruin a beautiful instrument. By the way the humidifier I purchased is the Oasis Blue. Hope this helps some folks.
