nice axe- love the gold.

Same here, I'm more of a gm, but I'd go for the dodge
Challenger over the camaro any day. But prefer a gmc z71 over
The dodge truck.
And I recently bought my wife an expedition, because we needed
A larger vehicle, newborn so that makes it 4kids now.lol

WOW! that's exactly like mine. You got a good deal on that beautiful thing. I had to come up with $2,195.00 for mine about a year ago. That one will no doubt be a keeper for sure. 8)

----Danny,

Where I'm at they're in the 23/24 range. At $1729 my wheels would have really been turning, also.

Beautiful guitar sir. She's mighty classy

That's quite a guitar and quite a deal too-you did very well getting her for that price.

She's a keeper, the neck feels very similar to my HR62,
Action out of the box is fantastic.
I had the hardest time deciding between the heritage cherry
burst vs the gold top.
The classic look of the GT just does it for me.
unplugged, has this resonance that you feel and natural sustain
plugged in, the notes jump out at you clean, chunk dirty
Tone satisfies.
I rate this a 10 on a 1-10 scale on versatility, playability,
Tone, sustain, and looks.

Sweet Goldtop. I just added the 50's Studio GT to my collection. Sweetwater is great.

Howdy!

That is a fine gold top you have there. Congrats! 8)

Regarding the mahogany - stain not stained - I believe the grain filing process will darken the timber slightly depending on how well Gibson colour match the filler with the bare wood. Also the addition of lacquer will definitely darken the timbre. Even clear coats.

Here's my mahogany Strat body bare and again with a few clear coats of Danish Oil (with no stain in it)

Just going by your pic's, your gold top may well have a "Natural" finish on the back.

Andy
