Sucks to hear that SBLS! Well at least you won't have to shovel any snow for a while!!!

Try listening to something you don't normally listen to and see if there is anything out there you find you like and line up some new stuff to learn once you heal.

Thanks T2, I look forward to not shoveling, that isn't a sentence is it? I hurt my shoulder not my brain I'd hoped, lol. Color is getting more normal on that side so you are thinking what I was doing, listening to some new (to me) music.

How is your thumb now? Shattered my left shoulder in a fall a little over 3 weeks ago and remembered your injury. I've been taking it easy mostly, going to doctor (orthopedic team) appointments and doing the things the doc has told me to do. It is going to be awhile for healing. Hope your thumb is doing better.

The thumb is doing great, thanks for asking! I got out of my cast about 2 months ago (it was a full arm cast), and I still don't have full strength back in my wrist. Luckily I didn't end up needing surgery, and I healed up better than they thought possible. The doc was afraid that my thumb would no longer be opposable, but it is!
Sadly I haven't really been able to get back into guitar as much as I would like. My number 1 and 2 guitars are both having major issues.
To whoever suggested harmonica, thank you. I learned the very basics, and am currently working through Blues Harmonica For Dummies! I have also caught a bad case of some harmonica GAS. I want a better one then my Hohner Special 20, and I'd like it to be in the key of A.
SBLS, I know what you mean about going to doctor appointments! I had regular checkups every 2 weeks while in a cast, and then 2 more after I got it removed. I also know what it's like to have shoulder problems. I injured my shoulder playing hockey a few years ago, and I still get pain occasionally. Unfortunately shoulder injuries tend to linger.
I hope all goes well for you, and you have a speedy recovery! It always sucks to get hurt. Keep us posted!

Just what I needed Bro! Glad to see that your thumb is coming back without the surgery. Seeing the Docs this afternoon, staying positive. Thanks for the good vibes F&W 8)

SBLS; really sorry to hear about your shoulder. That can take a while to heal. I still have to be carefull reaching back to put on a jacket, and I tore mine up about 20 years ago. Of course I was foolish and didn't go to the doctor until it hadn't healed after about 4 or 5 months. He just smiled and said, so what do you think I can do now? He still charged me for the visit though! Good luck and don't push the recovery.
