I think everything should just stay the way it is. The newbies posting the same ole' topics over and over is something that is just gonna have to be put up with. No sense in making the forum even more confusing. The newbies are not gonna search for their question, if they did they wouldn't have any reason to interact with the people here and I think that is the whole point, they just wanna jump right in and start having a conversation. This is what leads to their quick thinking crazy posts that we all think are pretty ridiculous.

Take the goo girl for instance, it didn't take long for her to be put in her place. But her doing was her own downfall. Obviously she didn't give a crap about guitars. But in her case, the forum took care of itself and the trash got taken out.

I say lets not worry about it. Hell, it makes the forum more interesting.

But on the topic, I don't think there should be, because I myself would be directly affected.

Unfortunately, that's the cruel world we live in. Metalheads like us can't live in content anymore. [sniff] :(

Note to self: No slip and slide in Nick's yard!

Nicely done!

No age limit. I'm not a kid I'm a geezer. Some adults are rude too from time to time. If it becomes a problem just ban the individual young or old.

Maybe Brad & the mods should think about a General Discussion/New member/Polls forum?
Might clear some of it up, eh? On a side note: MANY forums are much worse,
I actually consider this the best forum I belong to.

I myself, am only 14 years old and would like to learn from all of you that have more knowledge than I do. And yes I have posted some redicuosly stupid questions and comments but you guys have let me know that was stupid or had already been answered. All in all I have learned a lot from the people here at Fender forums and really appreciate it. :D

I think stupid is the wrong word to use. It's not stupid to ask a question. It can be annoying to ask a question without even bothering to find the answer yourself first. The support link at the top of the page offers guitar dating, setup specs. This is Fender's home site! Why not browse it for info first? Google offers all sorts of answers for guitar questions. It's amazing how many sites are out there. If a person's shown that they tried to find the answer and still are having problems, no one here is going to give them a hard time.

The one question that gets everyone, over and over and over and over again is: what piece of equipment should I buy? Would you ask someone if you would like broccoli? You know what they'd say.....try it and find out for yourself. No one can tell anyone else what they'd like.

I'm just 15, and I hope i'm not a detrament to anyone having a good time on here...but I personally would side with you who would vote against having an age limit. Maybe i'm biased, but I think that just because you're young, it doesn't mean that you are immature. I also think that's it's good for young folks (like me) to be able to learn from you more experienced guitarists, and maybe give our imput here and there when we can!

I don't think he realizes his continuing disrespect ie, the way he pokes fun at the posts of others about him or things that could be aimed towards him. (with your attitude you're not helping yourself)
I know I was a first class smart $@! when I was a teen but I knew when to quit; and I eventually learned to be a little humble when someone mentioned I should back off; especially if I were being excluded from what was going on. That really bugged me and I got down on myself terribly cause I showed my youth, lack of experiance, and another part of my anatomy to the world when I was trying to be "Joe Mature". Trying to cover it up and hide it is like trying to hide a pile the dog left in the living room under a pillow. I'm sure there are plenty of guys here that can attest to doing the same thing. Just admit your approach was wrong; to yourself if not to the people or persons involved and CHANGE your course.
I'm 52 with a 23 year old mind (yeah just like the rest of the guys here my age) and can well remember trying to gain knowledge in my early teens about guitars; The most important thing I learned was to learn more I needed to keep my mouth closed more often than open. I leaned a lot more; more easily. This still works for me today.
I spent 20 years in the US military and traveled all over this country and couple of others; I learned that our (my) way isn't nessesarily the only way; to learn from others and always ALWAYS ALWAYS show respect; ESPECIALLY to ..... everyone; because there is always some one down the road of life that knows something you don't; that's had an experiance you haven't regardless of their age in years.
There's no such thing as a dumb old (man, woman, take your pick) because you don't get old being dumb... natural selection is always at work.... just like gravity.
Well enough of being in Dad mode.

Everone here has some great points and ideas esp. about slip'n sliding in Nick's back yard! I too have a couple of dogs! But I digress...
I don't think we want an age limit; we just want people here willing to help themselves before asking for help.
Anyone than can post here has access to the internet; the greatest research tool ever; just type in your subject matter and hit enter and you'll get some kind of results; don't like them reword your enquiry and you'll get different stuff back. That's why it's frustrating to get some questions...it's so easy to get your own answers then come on here armed with some wisdom you got on your own and you'll get respect as well.
I like the younger people being on here; but they and us old foggies need to have some tolerance for each other. Not a lot but a resonable amount.

I'd say for the most part, the kids here are pretty good. Aside from the fact that it seems English is no longer a requirement for an American education, most of the posts are good questions. Even the repetitive posts are honest questions.

I know they drive us crazy, but there are kids out there who honestly want to know what kind of guitar is good for such and such and what kind of amp sounds good for this? I can remember all the crap I was told about guitars in highschool. The people I was listening to were idiots, just like me. So kids come here to hopefully get some real advice. Even though it drives us nuts to have to say for the hundredth time.....go try a lot of guitars and get the one you can afford and like the most.

So I say go ahead and keep asking those questions. Just don't be too pissed at us when we go crazy at the same ol questions.

Exactly, the reason I ask those questions is to make sure if this crap I'm hearing is true or not.

Ok i guess i will put it out there, Most everyone on this sight is rather mature and seems to be adults, but from time to time it seems that there are people who havent made it all the way to adult hood, who imo drag this down. I know not every one agrees with each other on here but most are respectful. So i am asking the collective, should there be an age limit

I can't really tell how old everyone is, however I really don't like being part of a "collective".
