Ok i guess i will put it out there, Most everyone on this sight is rather mature and seems to be adults, but from time to time it seems that there are people who havent made it all the way to adult hood, who imo drag this down. I know not every one agrees with each other on here but most are respectful. So i am asking the collective, should there be an age limit

Out of curiosity, am I viewed as immature?

But on the topic, I don't think there should be, because I myself would be directly affected.

That's a tough question... I agree that there are youngsters out there that are bringing the site down. On the other hand, I have a 14 year old son (I swear he's already smarter than I'll ever be) who is VERY into music (he's even started writing his own music) he posts respectfully, even using proper spelling and grammar (as a concerned parent, I monitor ALL of his online activities) and if he were blocked by this site or another like it... he would not be able to learn from all of you out there.

It's too bad that there isn't a way to just "ignore" posts from certain individuals. For instance, if anybody doesn't want to hear from me... click on "Ignore ClearwaterZiggy" and for you (and only you) my posts would be invisible.

ANYWAY... that rant was just my way of saying that it's a shame that a few bad kids ruin the reputation of all teenagers.

Like I said above... it's good kids like you and my son who lose out when age limits are imposed because of a few immature kids.

I don't think an age limit is the answer. There are young kids out there who can communicate very well. The thing that gets me is the incredible number of lazy people who will not do a search or any work on their own to find an answer, but must be spoon fed. If I see one more " Who is the best" , "Rosewood vs Maple" or "What guitar should I get" thread, I'm gonna scream.

I don't think there should be an age limit as long as everyone respectfully uses the forums and acts with maturity. I like to have fun on the forum, but not at the expense of others. I've read a lot of forums where people belittle each other, name call and constantly argue. From what I have seen so far this forum is different and i would like to see it stay that way.

Post responsibly.

I don't think that age has much to do with it. I know musicians who are far younger then I, who can contribute a lot more. As for the maturity thing, age doesn't matter. The most immature person on this forum could be the oldest, or vice versa.
