Off topic ? No - here's a speaker , piano and a bass  Just an everyday story to entertain you!
My cat came running into my living room the other night , with a mouse in the mouth ( It has happened before) I was immediately pissed - and screamed out ''stop'' or something . The cat got scared , dropped the mouse - and ran away -out , again . Here's the sinner :
Image
I am not afraid of mice , just don't want it to hide and die some awkward place - for instance inside this piano :
Image
AND , of course , the mouse immediately ran and tried to hide beneath it . So I had to roll this beast of a piano around in my living room , to find it . Back and forth. Heavy stuff :? I found the mouse , and tried to attack her , but she got away :( Suddenly the mouse ran across the room to where I have my HiFi equipment - I nearly jumped after, slipped on the floor - almost landed on that little devil ! Found her again behind a speaker - tried catching again - she almost jumped into my face ! So I backed off - and suddenly I could not see the mouse anymore. Where? I figured out the only possible place had to be inside the speaker ! This has got a bass port where she might have entered. I put on some great rock'n'roll at a fairly high level -trying to force her out , but nothing happened. I decided to open up the speaker by the terminals
Image
There she was ! Probably deaf , poor creep . Still impossible to get her out , but I parked the speaker outside , and finally the mouse decided to leave :D
Speaker OK again , I listen to ZZ Top - having a beer and something stronger. Friday night , here ! Cheers

Been there and done that, with a minimum of three cats, there's always something coming into the house!

Great story and great pics - poor little mousy!

Ha! That's something :o Looking forward to tell this one to my daughter - she bought one maincoon a couple of months ago. I haven't met him yet - they're living quite a distance from here - but in 2 weeks she comes with her boyfriend and cat to visit me , by plane :D

First a string in the eyeball, and now mooses. You live in a lot of fear. Always remember, a coward dies a thousand deaths, a big girl but one. :?

Ah-ha! Having spent many a long hour chasing mice brought in by our cats around the house in the middle of the night I nowadays know the easy solution to this problem.

Mice want to run and hide in dark places. They also want to run along the edges of rooms by the skirting board. So what you do, you take a rubber boot and lie it down by the wall with its open end facing the piece of furniture the mouse has hidden under. Like this:

Image

Then you herd the mouse out from beneath the sofa, piano or whatever, it runs along the wall and dives into the boot, you scoop it up and release it into the garden. Or photograph it first:

Image

(That mouse is saying: "Meh, busted. Oh well: howzabout some peanuts?")

I am an absolute expert at this: from the moment the cat drops the mouse in the middle of the living room floor I can catch it, release it and be back tucked up in my nice warm bed in five or ten minutes flat. Practice makes perfect. 8)

Cheers - C

Ceri - I've regarded you an expert on stringed instruments , I had no idea you also were an expert on mice ! I thank you for the great advice . This should make these occasions easier to handle :D This was creative and fun ! Almost hope the cat 'invites' a mouse tonight

But first - it is Skyfall !
