Doyle Bramhall II is a decent player. His days with ARC Angels along with Charlie Sexton, Chris Layton, and Tommy Shannon. were quite interesting.
Doyle has gone on to play in Eric Clapton's touring band.

For those that don't know. Tommy Shannon (Bass) and Chris Layton (Drums) were Stevie Ray Vaughan's band Double Trouble.

i must disagree with him only being decent, i would say he blows kenny wayne sheppard, and john mayer out of the water, and i would put him up there with guys like warren hayes of gov't mule

I refrain from using terms such as "great" when talking about guitar players. Doyle does out play a lot of other guitarist (including the ones you mentioned)
When Doyle reaches what I consider to be an excellent guitar player he will be in the company of Jimi and SRV.

ok gotcha, see i see my self as decent, and a guy like bramhall as prett damn good, and SRV and Hendrix and mind blowing amazing!! so thanks for giving me the scope of your judgment

How did I miss this Thread??

Doyle is Great! Sometimes he sounds like Stevie, because Stevie showed him that stuff when he was a kid, hangin' out in the studio. But most of the time he sound like Doyle. He uses Huge string to get his tone, which is great tone. And he's a great Slide Player.

He has a great sence of COOL 8) the Opening lick in "Rosie" prove that.

To me he gets some major hendrixesque tones!! But he doesnt ever sound like any one really. He is a over looked guitar player, and to me blows guys like Kenny Wayne Shepard out of the water. He has that grit and funky soul, not many guys can pull off
