hey guys... a lot of intressting things have been happening lately... got my first real pedal, a dunlop crybaby gcb-95... it does it better than my ME-70 wah though i need to kill the highs on it and probably remove the buffer... i also got a new (to me) live amp... the peavey express 112 blue trim from the 90's... this baby is as old as me but still has a lot to give!!!! solid state but sounds like a tube amp ;)... also after checking out some gear, i'm actually considering getting the fender runaway feedbacker pedal which may just be what i'm looking for as long as i find it to be good enough for me to use... jeez i wish fender got back to making the good old analog pedals...

well back to what matters... i'm thinking of getting a new acoustic... my poor 6 year old beat up classical guitar that i use in my folk band isn't cutting it for me and she's begging for retirement... i need something i can manage to use live with my band and my folk group and i was thinking of getting the fender t bucket or the fender sonoran but then she came along

i know she's new and she's an epi but her price is about the same or cheaper than the other 2 and the quality seems to be uncanny... what do you guys say??? which would you get???

I've always really liked the Hummingbird. Solid top. Nice. :D

A friend of mine got the same guitar some time ago... different color, but it was the Epi Hummingbird.
Playability was an issue. A lot of companies making the "less expensive" acoustic guitars are putting them out with the action so low you can't strum a decent chord without getting fret buzz.

I guess it's an attractive feature for a beginner who hasn't developed callouses yet, or maybe an electric player who's not used to playing acoustic.

I set my buddy's guitar up by shimming up the saddle and the truss needed some adjusting. I also made a brass saddle for it to replace the stock one.

It sounded really nice after the work and the brass saddle gave it some really noticeable sustain.

Nice guitar, but I wish Epiphone (and other manufacturerers) would build guitars the way they're supposed to be built. If a player wants lower action - take the shim out.

OK, I'll accept that for now ... but I know as your ear improves that perception will change.

If you're going to plug in you might also want to take a look at some of Takamine's offerings. They're roughly in the same kind of price range as that very lovely looking Epi you posted and they normally have really good electronics in them. Their bang for the buck is hard to beat for a young gigger on a budget.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
