Go ahead and buy them Stones tickets.
The first song will be -Under my thumb.

Man I feed my kids for 8 weeks with that amount.

I hate big venue shows. Somehow I feel pathetic amidst the crowds. How about you?
Best concert I have attended,
Bill Frisell. 8)
Small theater, 120 people. Perfect sound.
The man would chat with the audience between numbers,
without a mic.
Near the end, someone asked,
-Play something you are still working on...
The band proceeded to blow the lid off that place.
I cherish that autographed ticket! :D

Front and center with Les Paul at The Iridium; Trini Lopez at Basin Street East.

No way would I ever pay that, no matter who it is.

Seeing gigs is all about the love of the artist and a sense of everyone being one, when I saw Feeder at Reading festival it was perfect. In a tent with 1500 people tops, not a big chart band anymore, the only people there were people who love the band.

What made the gig one of my best ever was that you could turn to any member of the crowd and for the length of the gig be their best friend because you all loved the music, and the band knew it too. For me thats what its all about.

Others may disagree but for me thats everything.

Amen to that TGS!
My bride of going on 30 years likes to buy "memories".
She went on a cruise with her girlfriends a few years ago. I was "compensated" with a similar amount of cash to do with as I pleased.
I'm still enjoying my Hot Rod Deluxe... her cruise is loooong gonnnnne

Stones would be a good memory, granted, but at that price it would spoil everything.

My wife and I paid around three hundred for two tickets to see the Stones at an 80,000 seat stadium show about a decade ago. It was rubbish - horrible sound quality and a view you needed a telescope to make work. An awful memory.

Interestingly, those shows were billed as the Stones' "farewell tour", as is the present tour (well, tourette). But then if memory serves the 1970 tour was supposed to be their farewell swansong too.

So we shouldn't worry if we miss it this time round, there's bound to be some more farewell shows in a year or two.

Cheers - C

Personaly I think all the good people who paid hard earned cash to see the back of them or otherwise at the last  "Farewell" tour should get together and jointly sue the buggers for false advertizement

In the late 60's I paid $20 to see Elvis at the midnight show at the Hilton in Vegas. He was considered a has been by then. Little Richard was the lounge act and put on a better show. In the early 70's we saw the Stones at Colo. St. Univ. when I was a student, their 1st stop on their return visit to the US in several years. It couldn't have cost much because I didn't have much then. Today I wouldn't pay $650 to watch Jesus imitate Hendrix.

No band is worth that per ticket. Most bars, clubs & private parties around here barely pay a band that to play an entire 4 set gig!

I just looked at Ticket Master for the NJ gig and it ranged $95 to $750+fees. So actually, it came out to be $813. They had these VIP packages there as well that were all sold out. I guess if you got the money and really love a band that much, then more power to you.

You can tell the tenor of the audience by the number of Rolls Royces and other exotics parked near the entrance.

Sounds like fun.

i saw an acoustic set by Glenn Kaiser is a similar setting--in addition to the one I mentioned before--Glenn Kaiser Band & Phil Keaggy and 6 other bands--for $30.

I wouldn't pay $6.50 to see the stones. But that's just me.
