This morning while listening to Little Steven's Underground Garage on Sirius Satellite Radio, they announced that the Stones are charging $650 a ticket for their upcoming tour and that all seats have been sold out in advance.I would only pay that much money to see Jimi Hendrix arise from the dead and play a concert.Even though the Stones are rock icons,to be charging that much for a ticket is chiseling of the highest order and I certainly wouldn't be spending that much to see them-unless of course Brian arose from the dead to play with them.I guess there are still people who think that the Stones are worth that much to see and probably would pay over $1000-no doubt scalpers will be getting these prices and more from the star-struck and gullible.

Those buying the tickets are now Republicans who once were Democrats, Liberals, Weathermen, war protesters, hippies dropouts, and other poor folk of my younger generation. There's also a lot of industry ticketing in that mix...anyone or anything having business dealings with The Rolling Stones, Inc.
They haven't been a good 'ol rock and roll band for years. The are the Microsoft of rock bands. You can tell by the fact that Keefer's got his teeth fixed.

I flew from Calgary to Ottawa to see Joe Bonamassa, I don't regret it at all.

Nobody's worth $650--in fact I wouldn't pay $100 unless it was a festival over a couple of days.

But that's what I can pay.

Last summer I saw 8 bands for $30, and two of them were among my favorites (Glenn Kaiser Band & Phil Keaggy)--and after their own sets they jammed for about 35 minutes--incredible day--well worth more than the $30 it cost me.

The only people I can think of who I'd pay $650 to see are all dead. When Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood came to town I didn't get to see them because I wasn't going to pay $80 for a nose bleed seat. I kind of regret that now, but on the other hand you could buy some decent gear for the price of a couple of tickets.

Actually, it's $650.00 plus an additional $63.00 Handling Fee for TicketMaster !!

Mick, Keith, Charley and Ronnie are estimated to take home $15,000,000.00 EACH from the 4 gigs (2-US/2-UK) !!

Good Work if you can get it !!

"I can't get no satisfaction..."

cheers!

That's highway robbery......I'd battle with justifying 1 something to see them. In a massive stadium, 50/50 if the sounds good for $650......pfffttt not a chance.....

That price is absurd. It doesn't sound like they're touring for the fans, at least not the ones who aren't investment bankers. I don't know if profanity is allowed on these boards (because words are scary) but I'd like to rattle off a chain of them. I saw them back in '93 and they weren't anything special then, and this just cements my opinion of them as decadent, over-celebrated piles of profanity, profanity, profanity.

I'd pay $650 for a time machine trip back to go to WOODSTOCK. the $650 is for the time machine round trip, I'm pretty sure I could get ito the festival free.

I cannot think of any band I'd drop $650 for. Not anyone who's still living, anyway. Especially if we're taliking stadium or arena shows, there's just too much hit-or-miss in terms of the views and acoustics.

Saw the Stones twice in the '90s and enjoyed each show, but I wouldn't pay even a quarter of what they're charging now for tix. I'd rather save up for gear!
