The Robert Cray Band has released a new CD 'Nothin' But Love' http://tinyurl.com/9z7oy5l, and its a great one.

I knew earlier this year that Bob was going back in the studio to record, and that Kevin Shirley (Journey, Iron Maiden, Rush, Led Zeppelin, Joe Bonamassa, etc) was the producer. Was the 59yrs old Bob going heavy metal!? No, but I can tell Shirley really pushed the band, giving them a edger direction.

On the limited edition, there is a live version of Magic Sam's 'You Belong To Me', which in itself is worth the cost of the CD.

Here's a link to the EPK video http://youtu.be/xo-u3xYw3Fk for the album.

I'm listening to samples now on Amazon. Robert never disappoints.

I have an autographed CD I received from The Blues Foundation, 2009's This Time, but I wish I had Strong Persuader. Actually I have it on vinyl in storage 1,100 miles from the turntable and I have it on cassette, but my cassette deck died from the humid, salty air here. :(

Maybe I'll buy it a third time.

I've been a Robert Cray fan for years and years and own all of his stuff on CD. Of all the blues guys out there, he's definitely his own man and has a different sound from most of his contemporaries. I'll have to track this CD down, which is getting to be more difficult in this town these days.

Enjoyed watching that production link, Tony. Thanks.
