Just remembered -- I want the new baritone Tele, too.

I was a die hard Strats only fanatic until about a month ago. A guy walked into the guitar shop where I work one day, and I ended up buying his MIM Standard Tele from him for $100. I figured that I would just turn around and sell it for $200, but I made a fatal mistake and took it out on a gig. I loved the way it cut through the mix and blended with the tone of the other guitar player's Strat without blending in. And ever since, that Tele has been getting roughly equal playing time as my Strat. So now, while I'm still very much a Strat fanatic, I see Teles in a new light. In fact, I've been saving up some gig money and tomorrow I think that a Highway One Tele just might follow me home...

I've played them both (Strat and Tele), love them equally. Another Fender question would be "Who on here has a Jazz bass guitar?". As a Precision bass guitar player I recognize the peculiar characteristics the Jazz bass guitar's voice has and will have one some time in the future (i kow pic's or it didn't happen  ).

I've got a 2008 American Standard, it's my standard "go to" guitar and I like it more everyday, I've always planned on keeping it stock but the desire of putting on a vintage 3 straddle bridge has been growing...will I hear a tone difference? Probably not, but it just looks cooler. :D

I've got a lot more mods planned.

Upgrading the pots to 500k for this PU, getting a metal jack plate with 4 screws to hold it down, probably larger witch hats, and maybe even a fatter neck.

Buxom . . . 1st of all . . I love your avatar pics. Lee Ving, Joey Ramone . . . and I think that is Darby Crash w/o his famous mohawk.

Most of all, I love your Tele with humbuckers. Looks like a lethal guitar. Perhaps my next Tele will have humbuckers too.....usually that is rare to see on a Tele!

It's a tele, but not really a "Fender" (other than the bridge and some bits of hardware) I've posted pics elsewhere but always happy to show her off... it's an MJT body and neck with Fralin pickups and Tele Toneshaper electronics under the hood... very sweet sounding and a great player!

I have to confess... I'm tangled up with the idea of building another tele. Just a good ol' vintage style tele. I'm hovering over a few auctions in the bay trying to get a deal on a body and neck. Man, GAS is a killer! :)
