I have a really dumb question and I hope I don't get slapped down too hard for asking it.

I'm new to this room, and I try not to ask too many questions, because I'm still not familiar with the format, and what has already been discussed.

Anyway.......here goes....(ducking).

When reading the posts I've noticed that often members will place a previous post in a "square box", then respond to it. It is similar to what is done when responding to an email. But........for the life of me......I've looked all over, trying to find the answer, without bothering anybody........and cannot figure out where the feature is.

So.......here is the question........ How is that done! (ducking under the table to minimize hits)

Just use the 'QUOTE' button in the upper right corner of the post you want to reply to

Like that.......Look at the top right corner of each individual post, the "quote" button. Hope that's what you're talking about. 8)

It's called "quoting", and if you take a look at the various toolbars around each post, you'll find one that says "quote". To quote me, press the quote button above my post and you'll automatically quote the whole post. Of course, you can edit the quote so you only include areas of interest.

There. I hope that was enlightening :D

Yep, you're right. I wasn't paying attention to the thread, and I'm a really slow typer. When I started writing the answer there was no posts at all  And Time - Machine obviously has an edge when it comes to such things
