Thanks for the leads. Coming up a young lad I always liked "Refelections" but never gave any thought to who recorded it.

"Reflections" came bubbling up out of my sub-consious the other day, and at first I did not know why. I did some research and found out who recorded an wrote it. So now why was this song playing in my head. I had not heard it in years? My subconscious is always sended me messages in music, bits of lyrics etc. After some thought.. the answer... I have a young woman freind who is going through a very difficult time in her life, and something in me told me she would benefit from the meaning.

Is a sad song but full of hope. Reinforcing hope in the face of the human condition. I think it helped her.

Amazing lyrics. Impressed with the writers, and wanted to know where they ended up.

Thanks

OL

Sorry to hear about your friend OL, beautiful piece of music to soothe the soul eh, this song also went through my head awhile back I posted it on Miami Mikes Youtube thread....also had to show my wife the latest vids her immortal words, not for the first time " OMG he's got really old" she used to think he was the most handsome man on the planet, awhile back we had the good luck to see Andy Fairweather Low..loved the concert driffting down memory lane with all his old hit's, at the interval AFL is signing CD's and stuff in the foyer when my "blind as a bat" wife decides she needs a closer look and right on cue not 5 feet away him " OMG...he's.." comes blurting out thinking it's under her breath :) , she got away with it with her smile though as I noticed while I was backing away.
best wishes to you and your friend

Well I don't know where Dean Ford is now but I remember the group playing in our local cellar club back in the mid-sixties. They were known as Dean Ford and the Gaylords back then but I haven't heard anything of Marmalade in a long time.

Dean Ford and Marmalade were another great group who never quite got the recognition that they deserved. They also were the only band-that I know of-who used 2 bass players. The on-line radio station Last FM has some pretty up to date bios of popular 60s and 70s artists and groups-you may find what Dean and/or the other band members are up to now by checking out http://www.lastfm.com.

EDIT: I just checked with Last FM and there wasn't any new or recent info on them.
