one thing i will say, i was at the celebration day premiere in hammersmith on friday. The band came and introduced it which was nice. And the pub round the corner was well stocked in single malt, which was also very nice, but i digress...

It is actually very very good. One of the best versions of `in my time of dying` ive ever heard, and they play `for your life` from presence and make it sound huge. Most of the classics and plenty of unexpected ones. I was suprised and impressed.

Even plant sounded good, though i think they detuned quite a few to accomodate him.

I'm mainly interested in Jimmy Page's activities. It would be great to hear a Jimmy Page/John Paul Jones album, specifically using 50's through 70's guitars and amps. I get all trippy when I think Zeppelin.

Having witnessed many "reunion" shows/tours of bands who broke up years ago, I can say this:

They better be dang sure they "want it" in an artistic sense or it will be terrible.

I have seen the Arc Angels reunite several times, and each time they were artistically and personally "digging it"--great shows...in fact, the reunion shows were better than the final few shows of their initial run, when DBII was battling the Heroin Monkey and nobody was talking to one another.

I saw another much more popular and legendary band that will remain unnamed (I don't need the flack from their sycophants) and it was very obvious they were unhappy personally and artistically...they were just going through the motions, and it was terrible. I wished I had never seen it, because it soured my (formerly) warm and fuzzy feelings for that band.

Plus, does anyone really think that Plant's voice would be able to handle a full-fledged tour, even if they make tuning adjustments?

Let's be happy for what they did--releasing the Celebration show on DVD.
