Tell me about yours. I play most of the lead guitar plus rhythm in our 2 contemporary services on Sundays. We have an acoustic drum kit with plexi shield, keys, a guy who plays a Tele through a Hot Rod Deluxe, a guy who plays a Fender jazz bass, a guy who plays a Martin, 2 girl singers and me who plays a Am Dx Strat through a Blues Deluxe. It's an awesome experience.

I played 12 string and was in a group for many years, starting in the late 70's during the 'Folk' era. That came to an end after about 15 years but recently, things happened and I found myself with an oppouruity to get back into it and am glad I did!

I'm once again playing 12 string (Ovation) and singing. We have a keyboardist, bass player and lots of good voices. We recently lost our drummer to a profession change that would require his weekends (he's becoming a commercial pilot) and have someone else trying to fill in. We'll have to see how that turns out.

We're referred to as the 'Praise Band', practice together twice a month and play one sunday a month. We play the type of music you'd hear on 'Spirit' (Ch 66, I think, on Sirius).

Personally, I have a strong inclination to MercyMe, Michael W. Smith, Lincoln Brewster and Jeremy Camp. I also prefer it when we let things 'rock' but realize we can't do that all the time.

This reinvolvement has also motivated me to do more with a guitar than just play backup. I bought a Fat Strat and am going through all the lessons on GuitarTricks.com (which is going to take a while) and I practice, practice, practice!

Dave

Rock on a fellow homeschooler \m/(-_-)\m/

Anyway, I would play in my church's youth band if they reinstated it, but my church's whole youth program has been stale for a while now

That's sad. Holy rawk draws the youths to the Lord.
