Dude that's pretty awesome how'd you do it? I'm thinking about doing that to my strat.

Its a Polly finnish so it was a bit of a challenge. I used a Knife to chip away the paint and then I sanded the wood to smooth it out and then I used some very dark Stain to make it look old and aged. Took a while to do but it was well worth it. On the neck I used 0000 grit steal whool this took a really long time. Then I used a paper towell and rubbed a light coat of stain on that also to make it look worn out and dirty. Pretty fun project. and It came out exactly the way I pictured it in my head before I started. Oh and I dont know if you can see it but on the bottom below the rear point of the pick guard there is a chunk of wood missing. I intentionally dropped it hoping to make a spider web crack in the paint and that happened. It hurt it more than it was suppose to but it looks pretty cool now that its all done.

I like to keep mine Showroom Shiny if I can. I'd take a Sponsorship Deal from Turtle Wax if it kept me in "Finish 2001" for the rest of my life.

My old '88 Strat shows battle scars up and down the neck, and the Oly white's chipped up a bit from Earthquakes and playing in bars without a guitar stand. It's starting to look like Jimmie Vaughans old White Strat. I'm proud of every scar, but I still liked it best when it was Brand New and Shiny.
