Hi... I am now choosing between a Duncan SH-4 Jb and a Dimarzio Super distortion. My guitar is a fender kurt cobain jaguar .... which one is better?? SH4 or Super distortion.. thanks

Dimarzio Super distortion

Something you could do is watch and listen to Nirvana concerts, and figure which sound you like better. I think the SD was generally used more during the Nevermind era, and the JB was more the In Utero era. Personally, Dimarzio's Super Distortion may be my favorite pickup of all time, but I really like the JB as well.

Dimarzio uses milivolts as a measuring standard, which makes it easy to gauge what you want to achieve.

I have both. Each company is tops. Both companies pick-ups do exactly what the description reads. The guitar you put them in contributes to the sound. How you wire them does as well. So, you have a boost using them. What you do with your new powers is entirely up to you.

I have a Super Distortion in one of my guitars and a Jb in another. I think it depends on the sound you are wanting. If you want more of a ballsy growl, Super Distortion is the way to go. If you want more of a trebley sound, the Jb is the way to go.
