CA Feathers, while playing loud doesn't make up for no talent, playing with massive distortion does cover up missed chords and notes pretty well. As much as I love to get the li'l Blues Junior up to 11 1/2 on the preamp and get that Hendrix tone, generally I'm playing clean with reverb.

Yeah, you've got an AC 30 emulation on your Vox modeling amp. But it's not an AC30. The AC30 has no gain control. Just volume. Thats the point he's trying to make.

By the way, "Eleven" is the integer immediately following "Ten."

On a scale, where "Zero" means no sound, and "Ten" means very loud, "Eleven" is even louder.

I can get the SRV tone by using:
Fender Strat (Neck Pickup)
Fender Frontman 25 Amp (Gain 3, Treble 10, Middle 10, Bass 0, Reverb 0)
BOSS VH1 Wah Pedal (Custom Mode)

Give it a try. It works for me. It might not give you the exact tone but then I have a custom set-up.

Zakk Wylde tone, you'll need an EMG equipped guitar. To save you buying the Zakk Wylde Les Paul, you can get a Jackson RR24. I mainly use Seymour Duncans and get a good tone from that, but for the identical Zakk Wylde tone you need two things: a HUGE wall of Marshalls and an EMG equipped Les Paul! Rock on Man!!!!
