I just wanted to thank everyone who took a listen to my song demo, “Burnin’ Bridges Down” and responded so favorably.

(Queue the violins…)I live a rather isolated life and haven’t any family and few friends and I don’t perform my music anyplace, so I really appreciate the responses I get from comments on my ReverbNation page and FaceBook, as well as the Fender Loungers. Unlike my ReverbNation and FaceBook pages, I can not edit out any negative comments here at the Lounge, so I was a bit anxious as to what I would find. Again, your kind words and support have been a real boost to my spirit at a time when I really need it most. My music is all I have in my life right now, it’s what keeps me going and gives me a reason to get up and get through another day.

So, on that note, I did just post a follow up song that I’m feeling real good about, “Perfect Lies & Alibis”. Where my last song had me channeling the Stones, this one gets a tip of the hat to Mr. Duane Eddy with a smidgen of Los Straitjackets thrown in. I hope y’all enjoy and thanks again for the support.

Mary :D

As smooth as the simonized paint job on a '57 Chrysler 300C convertible!

I love the tremolo -- like the piece was composed with that effect in mind.

Rawk on!

In fact it was. That was what it started out with, just that vibrato effect and a few chords with a basic drum beat. Then came the Duane Eddy guitar twang and she pretty much wrote herself (well, actually I put a lot of work into it...but you know what I mean).

The real trick was keeping it simple and knowing what not to put in the song. It's a practice in simplicity, really. I reeled back on some of my playing and allowed what wasn't being played to be just as important as what I was playing. Does that make sense or have I had too much wine spo-dee-o-dee?

Oh and, sweet car! 8)

I love what you've got so far, but I really think it's time for lyrics!
