Legendary session guitarist Big Jim Sullivan passed away, may not be a name familiar to lots of folk but I'm certain you'll have heard him play..over a 1000 chart hits had his work on them...RIP BJS

Wow, I didn't know this. I haven't checked any music news recently. I learned of him originally by reading about Jimmy Page's early session career and a general interest in 60's British pop and rock music. That's really too bad. R.I.P. Big Jim. :(

yeah just heard myself BassPaulL, one of those guys always in the background eh, heard his name mentioned lots of times too...mentions a bit about Jimmy Page on his webpage

Yeah, I've been to his website before. It is linked from Shel Talmy's site. They all recorded a bunch of tracks for pretty much everybody over there.

I didn't remember this musician John. Thank you for posting the links, Big Jim Sullivan was really big in the music business. R.I.P. Jim.

I am totally ashamed after reading the wiki Bio that I am unfamiliar with this guitarist..after reading the Bio I see absolutely no reason to not know! It truly is a bad year for some top musicians this year. Thank you for the post and for educating me!
