Can anyone guess how I recorded this? After 5 guesses, I'll say how. (yes, I know it's low quality)

The mic I'm using is an old cellphone, that is correct, but what else.

Did you put the cellphone inside your amp and throw it into the inner circle of hell?

I'm just not sure what I'm meant to be hearing apart from something done through a cellphone? Whats the weird part?

It's done acoustically. I taped the mic part of this old phone to the back of the old Norma. It sounds as if it has gain, which is odd. The Norma resonates very well, and it sounds gainy even when held straight to the ear. Also, this piece sounds a lot better when played through an amp.

I've just been experimenting with a lot of different techniques, recording styles, amp setting, etc, lately. This was just one of the things I found really weird.

1. Are you using the cell phone as the guitar pick?
2. Are you using your beak (nice picture, by the way) as the guitar pick?
3. Is it a homemade guitar fashioned from a cigar box and rubberbands?
4. Is it not a guitar at all and perhaps a comb and tissue paper?
5. Is there a cash prize for guessing correctly?
:P

Not taking a silly experiment lightly? Why not?

I love it when people have an adventurous imagination when it comes to creating music, and aren't content just following a conventional path. There are too many musicians, and not enough artists making music.

I've always wanted to put a gong in front of a bass amp, and see how it would sound with the bass moving it. I think it could be sonically interesting.

Loooong ago during a studio session (back in the days of huge desks, refrigerator sized racks and reel to reel), I managed to get a really enormous lead tone which had quite a few people asking me how the hell I got it.

The assumption - big tube amp pushed to melting point and some tricky outboard gear.

The truth - a no name distortion pedal, and a tiny little battery amp miked up inside a grand piano with a brick on the pedals.

Always pays to experiment!

I wouldn't have figured that was done without an amp, that was pretty cool actually, very "Jack White". :D Doing stuff like that can get amazing results in the studio. Just ask George Martin. You should keep at it and perhaps look into an Audio Recording program (school) if you haven't already.
