asgierman- A friend of mine was teaching music in Norway for a few years, and he came back to the states for a year. He told me that shortly after he started teaching in Norway he couldn't figure out why his students would laugh when he said he couldn't find his pick  . One day one of his fellow teachers explained it to him  .

He just returned to Norway this past Summer, man I miss him. He was a lot of fun and a great musician.

Both, he met a girl while in Norway, and he really likes living and teaching in Norway. So it is a win win for him.

But you could always pick one up as I assume you have the correct parts for doing that! This post had me laughing from the get go.

I can't believe anyone actually washes thier picks on purpose...at least the ones we use to play guitar with!

After reading the responses on this thread I think I'm about to market my new solid state pick tuner. If your picks are constantly playing out of tune this may be what you need. It comes complete with carrying case and instruction booklet. Don't let an out of tune pick spoil your gig. Get it for only $59.95 and if you call right now...........................

My preference is to wash guitar and picks together, then blow dry to get moisture out of all little nooks and cranies.

I wouldn't use a clean pick on a dirty guitar, that's like taking a shower and putting on your dirty sweaty clothes.

Yeah--they only get washed if I forget them in my pockets--so it has happened.

Otherwise I like the relic'd...

I have never heard of washng guitar picks but as for my other pick,I wash and polish it daily because you never know when you may meet a lovely lady guitarist looking for a pick.

Actually it's "You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose, but you can't wipe your friends off on the saddle."

Not to put too fine a point on all this philosophical hyperbole but I'm playing the guitar......not going fifteen rounds with Ken Norton. My picks seldom become sweat-soiled and even if they do, I still just toss them in my guitar case when it's time to pack it in for the evening.

If I was seriously concerned with bio-contamination I'd treat them as would a surgical team in the OR -- swab them down with Hibiclens then toss 'em in the autoclave.

y'know I've never washed any of my picks, I guess it just never occurred to me. But being a computer guy, if I did wash them, I'd use...

I can honestly say that the thought of washing a guitar pick and never even crossed my mind in my entire life.

Cheers
