Strat Custom Pinstripes (w/ Pics)

I took my trusty old MIM strat to a local custom paint shop to see about getting some pinstripes added. The guitar is a nicely aged Olympic White with maple fretboard which I thought would make a nice canvas. My only instructions for the artist were that I wanted him to use red and black for the striping, and not to copy any other designs, but make it his own. The guy has a ton of experience, but this was his first guitar. I think he did a great job.

Is that a lowrider? Where are the dingle ballls and chain steering wheel?

Thanks for the compliments, I am thrilled at how it turned out. Talk about taking a stock guitar and making it feel like yours is the only one like it, man this did it. The artist's name is Jim Moser from Grass Valley, CA. Highly recommend him.

I asked Jim about having my sweaty forearm rubbing across his work, but he said a clearcoat shouldn't be necessary, I guess based on the paint he used. He did offer to do touch-ups in case I got crazy and really messed it up!

Not exactly the look I had in mind, but I can definitely see it now! Does anyone make mini chain steering wheel knobs?

Very nice job!
The brand of paint he used is "One Shot Lettering Enamel", and he's absolutely right about no clear-coat needed. Industry standard in sign shops all over the world... ask me how I know

I love it!!! I am one of those people who generally goes by the if its not broke ..leave it the heck alone rule..but I have to admit..I really really like it!
