.50mm black picks...learnt a good lesson today. When your right hand is relaxed, so is your left hand. These picks work great for chordy stuff, they work wonders for chuggin' palm mutes. But feel weird shreddin'. Very good memory for such a floppy pick, it's like it slaps to where you want it to go.

The yellow pointy picks... .73mm, wow, wayyyy bright, it's like changing pickups. HUGE CHUG, HUGE. Nice pick. It flew out of my hand after a bit, so picked up an .88mm.

.... .88mm, best all around pick, ah-gain. It's like changing pickups too. If you're hearing too much treble, use the green picks.

I found two red dava picks! The last time I tried those, the beveled edge where the rubber meets the road catches the strings, I'll try them again today.

Interesting reading......What size strings are you who are getting results out of .6's using??

10/46 Ernie Ball yellow pack but am switching soon to 9/42 because i hate heavier strings.

They just make playing the guitar too much like hard work and i don't want it to be a struggle.

I never liked that struggling with massive string guages thing.

Interesting, I'll certainly revisit thinner picks after reading this thread for sure, 1.14 Tortex Sharp is what i have been using for a year or more now. It's certainly taught me accuracy and really gets booming dynamics out of strings. But then P'90s or Humbukkers i could do with a softer touch.

I just cant live with light strings though, maybe in the future as my playing develops, but it just thins the mids way too much for me being blues focused. To my ear on a strat, String response and bell are halved in mids even going down to 10-48 from 11-49. I have no doubt, if i was a monster sweep picking shredder or Jazz progression master it would be a different story as to where i get my sounds. :|

The 50mm Dunlop Tortex black's are nice. Medium picks feels awkward at first, but ...yah get used to them quickly. Interesting. A whole new dimension of sound.

The .73mm Ultex are amazing too.

Something inbetween the Tortex .50mm blacks and.73mm Ultex would be purrrrfect!
