I like it! :P

Sometimes we put too much into how much we spend on our gear rather than just having fun with what we have.

I have a Jay Turser Strat copy I like alot!

Happy New Gear Day and enjoy! :D

this is kinda funny. i have a nice charvel i paid a little over 1000 bones for. really, really nice. i've got a blackstar ht60 amp that cost about the same. probably around 600 for the pedals. i'm far from rich let me add. what do i play the most????? an old gibson explorer that i crudely rebuilt. 1 pick up, one volume knob. i'd say its worth 150 bones. i plug into a tascam gt-1 that cost abround 150 bones.
makes sense, right?

I'll buy that old explorer for most of the bones in my body.

But I feel you on the gear. I paid roughly $170 for my main rig.

The only place I have to practice is in my basement with a concrete floor. My new $175 guitar once fell off it's stand so now I'm uncomfortable playing any of my better guitars, they sit in cases only for me to admire. I play and enjoy my damaged cheapie, and I'm just fine with that until I get a better place to play.

I am 58 years old. I've been playing Fender electric basses and sometimes I've messed around with Fender guitars since I was 14.

One of the very best front men I've ever seen in my life performed all original material on a sunburst Squier Strat into a small Dean Markley amp that was miked into the PA....this is an amp which most people would turn their nose up to in the pawn shop. He had only a bassist and drummer with him at the Peach Festival in Gaffney, SC...this was outdoors in the rain about 18 months ago. He was an amazing, confident, skilled, experienced and aggressive player who had some good songs. Trust me, nobody there but me even noticed the crapola gear.

If it tunes good and plays ok, there are no limits other than your skill and your heart. I'm sure this guy, who is a regionally noted player, has far better gear. But this elcheapo axe and beat up small combo was all he needed that day. No pedals...no high dollar tuners strobotuners...no nitrocellulose lacquer....no aftermarket mods on the axe at all...just pure talent. Make the best of what you have peoples.

Here is some wisdom of the aged. High dollar gear doesn't make the player, the player makes the gear.
