I haven't even seen a joint in over 20 years. Never did anything harder. I'll have a glass of wine occasionally. And thank God, I think I've finally overcome cigarettes. I smoked from 1 to 3 packs a day for 36 years, but I haven't had one in 5 months now. I'm praying I can really leave them alone this time.

I am not of age to drink yet....

And I have never done it (never will either) but pot has got to be the most nauseating thing I have ever smelled

I have no problem with the occasional joint. It's certainly the least harmfull of all the commonly used intoxicants, both legal and illegal. Anything in excess is a bad thing, thats why it's called excess.

Way cool about the cigs man. Now there's a drug that's legal and probably the most dangerous of them all. Unfortunately, I'm addicted to them. I'll keep trying though. When I was a kid cigs were sold as part of a healthy lifestyle. Young people running on the beach and relaxing with a nice soothing Newport or Salem. They were cool. Everyone smoked. Didn't realize the truth till I was way past hooked. I've never gone longer then 3 months without. Damn things. I really wish they would just be made illegal. Let the whole country go thru withdrawals at the same time and charge the tabacco comapnies for the ensuing damage.

I just don't drink, have never had a desire to do drugs, and have learned not to by watching those around me. I've seen some bad stuff happen because of drugs and hard drinking.

Clapton and SRV are great role models to show you can play clean (even if having struggled with it) and be great. It is notable watching footage of SRV play when he was clean, a lot more confident and enjoying life.

I agree. People seem to look at the negatives... So many artist should be respected way more than they are because people say they do drugs. It's time to put all that to an end.

I don't see anything wrong in enjoying alcohol in moderate amounts. Drugs isn't really my cup of tea though. Some friends smoke a little pot sometimes, but never when they're with me, and I'm okay with that. Fino

Well, if you mean musicians who never ever catch a lil buzz you can count me out. Sorry, I see nothing wrong with occasional buzz as long as it isn't ruining your life. No hard drugs for sure though.

I agree, I like a good cab or a black and tan to unwind. I don't do hard drugs.

Seeing as how we are a drugged up culture (especailly prescription), and the fact that all mainstream music really sucks right now, we're in for a long culturally numb era. Thank God for the small, local bands that are not in ot for the money or glory... but for the music. In other words, Thanks to all of those on this forum that are doing it for the music, not the moola!

How did I get so far off track? Must be the residual effects of my SoCal teenage years.
