The 90's had Smells like Teen Spirit, You oughta know, Black Hole Sun, and Jeremy.

The 80's had Thriller, Sweet Dreams, Sledgehammer, and My Sharona.

Now that we're 8 years into the decade of the 2000's what would say are the songs that will be identified with this decade.

Without a doubt, one of these 2 has to be the song of the 2000s. Heck, maybe of all time. An argument can be made. I never tire of them.

Song of the 2000s #1

Song of the 2000s #2

It's going to be hard to say, since radio doesn't really play a lot of current releases anymore (or do to death those that are), most songs on the radio tend to be 'favorites' (i.e. old) And I think that iTunes and other companies like them will kill the compilation album. We'll all have to make our own (I think they used to be called 'mix tapes'). But don't be surprised if Britney is going to be in that list-she sure wouldn't be in mine.

I miss my old MTV, with music videos.

This hasn't really been a rock decade. I guess it'll probably be rap and r&b songs that get the most attention in the future.

I'm not fond of it either, but then again, I'm not that audience rap is aiming for. They aren't speaking to me.
