Just try to handle everything professionally like you would a job. Even if you aren't gigging and getting paid right now. If you get to the point where you know one band is holding you back, or vice versa give them a little notice and drop out. If both bands end up gigging and scheduling becomes a problem pick the one you want and put in your notice with the other and try to fulfill any gig obligations that have been made before the notice. That's how it's done, or supposed to be anyhow. Until then, enjoy both bands and if it's problem for either drummer then they aren't being very adult about it. The reality is that neither band is making money, so neither band is anything but a hobby/project. Don't over think it.

 , my drummer has four bands + ours, when you're that good people schedule gigs around you. In this case you aren't going south so much as you're southbound, a much better connotation 8)

It's kind of like dating.... if you aren't hiding it then it's no big deal. If you are hiding it, then you probably shouldn't be doing it.

I played in a band with a drummer who had to have 5 or 6 projects going. It really depends on the person, in this case, he was giving up sleeping to do it all, and was very reliable. In the case of this drummer, I had no complaints. I could see it being a problem with a less 'responsible' player.

Time management and communication.

As soon as some of your time is committed to a practice or a gig make sure the other guys know so you won't be double booked.

Your judgement call if you tell them why you're unavailable.

We had a drummer that started playing with another group at first it was ok then I hated it he would cancel shows to play with them. The booking part was the worst part.
