careful dont overclean away good Tele mojo :D just wipe 'im down after you play

damp clean soft cotton cloths will do the job, or a bit of lighter fluid to dissolve away the worst crud & always be sure your guitar is very clean before using a polish.

i never use products containing Silicone on my guitars.

Silicone gives an unpleasant "slickness" a slippery feel to the finish that's impossible to remove!

Silicone makes it difficult to touch up, because paint beads up on top of the Silicone instead of flowing into the chipped space!
For guitars with a glued-on bridge, you can't replace or reglue it because nothing adheres to Silicone.

Silicone is best for car polish where it can help to prevent bugs or tree sap from sticking to cars. Whatever you use, read the label first, my opinion is to avoid Silicone!

... so, did you dust 'im off yet? would love to see pics when you get a chance :)

Yes :!: You are right :!: Got to keep that Tele mojo  Now if some mojo would only flow into me....sigh...
Thanks for the tips and advice and clearing up for me your dislike of silicone...I will read labels. My Teles are dusted and simply await a careful gentle mojo-preserving final clean.
I am getting my cleaning/polishing supplies together and if life happenings are kind to me and getting an image hosting service goes well...pics are on the way shortly.. I've read here...no pics, it didn't happen so pics it must be and will be. Thanks Stellacaster.

A microfiber cloth is really the only thing I use. Wipe the neck down after playing, as well as the area my forearm rests against, and done

I've heard of linseed oil doing wonders on rosewood 'boards.

I agree. That is a great habit to get into to maintain your guitar. In my case I've never done that so must now deal with a thorough clean-up to get to that point...no one to blame but me and a long hiatus from playiing didn't help.

I've got the cloth. I'm not sure about the linseed oil compared to lemon oil so will probably look into that option a bit more. It's probably worth mentioning that my rosewood board has never had any attention from me...its got to be dry and very thirsty....oooh, now I feel bad and
