I dont know why people like to pop and techno. I mean is not music. The only thing they have to do is create some effects on the computer, put a girl singing and the music is done. I still cant understand how these types of music have many fans. It is an absurd.
What do you think about this?

Long live rock 'n roll

I like me some techno......
back in the day I was into prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Darude, Paul Oakenfold,Lords of Acid.
during college that's just what me and the fellow technology nerds were into
most of my friends at the time were going to school for computer science so......

I am actually getting back into it a little here recently due to this new "Dubstep" revealed to me on here.

I miss those partys :?

Hate is such a strong word, I would use dislike. :D

But me like somebizzaredude get tapped in the sin of music. On my iPod you may find bands and artists like the Ting Tings, La Roux, Prodigy, Awolnation and a Icelandic 80's style electro pop band named Sykur (youtube or google it).

But out of over 9200 songs on my iPod most are somekind of Rock or Metal and even blues genres.

Pop and techno are music, just music that you don't like.
The computer can be used as an instrument just as well as any guitar, piano, sax etc. The only musical limitation is the users. Nothing wrong with techno. Sometimes you can really get into the beat and those effects. Same with pop music. There are some good pop songs out there. If all you have to do is create some effects and its done, create some and post it for us to check out.

Agreed,

Techno is not music, it is just noise.

I really dig dubstep. Not Skrillex, but the REAL English stuff. Lifting and working out to an insane and, in some sense of the word, otherworldly sound with a crazy bass just WORKS.

Same with death metal. I only listen to it when working out, because it makes me pumped.

With that said...

This is just utter trash to me. Most girl singing teenie-bopper pop is, imo.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Labels. Necessary but unfortunate.

I respect Level 42. Is that Pop? I don´t really know.
Also, Aphex Twin, genius. Is that Techno?

But on the whole, yes, I think there is just too much garbage out there.
Gone are the days when one could keep track of it all!

One of my kids turned me on to pop, techno, rap, etc. It's an acquired taste. At first, I didn't care for it. Then, it all grew on me. I've invested a bit in my son's techno equipment...computer, software, controllers, keyboards.

I think a good song is a good song. It doesn't matter how it's played or what it's being played on. Sometimes, it's good to go outside of the box and discover new or different things. It could enhance your own music and not get stuck in a rut. That being said, I know where the OP is coming from. There seems to be a lot more of cookie cutter music pumped out these days. It seems to be the same thing, just a different name attached to it. I think the biggest culprit is the over use of Auto Tune. Even modern country music over does it. It sounds no different than Top 40, other than some twang added in. I hate trends more than I would a genre of music.
