I love seeing those big recips turning the props on that DC-7B.

Oh, and the "soundtrack" was outstanding too......the world's first Strat hero!

Buddy was already culling musical styles from a number of sources by the time of that recording. Thus, while he's certainly to be regarded as "royalty", there are a number of different folks also entitled to wear that crown.

yep, just like Elvis. If we had to vote for just one 'King' though, Buddy would get my vote. I just can't call a guy who posed with guitars but didn't strum them the "King of R&R".

Wonder if those ordinary citizens had any idea who they were standing next to at that fence? One of them turns and motions to the camera as if to say "The bloke is taking pictures!"

I'm a huge fan of SRV and Clapton, but Buddy Holly is my favorite Strat player of all time. Every time I hear his music, or see a video of him, I want to run out and buy a sunburst Strat.

I once read that Elvis considered Chuck Berry to be the real king of R&R.

Long time friend of mine did just that in 1958, after seeing him in concert. I eventually wound up with the guitar. Guitar is long gone now, but not the friend, nor is the guitar forgotten by either of us.

I bet you both regret letting that guitar go.
