I agree, mostly. I believe survival of the fittest, or more accurately survival of the most adaptable is more realistic.
But not mob rule, it is possible for one person with extreme powers of persuasion and extreme sensitivity to change the mind of the mob.
And when you get two opposing mobs, of pretty much the same size and resources, each leader will appeal to their own mob when we may really need a real leader who can appeal to both mobs. Still waiting for that guy to appear.

My point was there shouldn't be mobs, at all. Mobs are full of people being led. I don't need to be lead. I don't need someone to babysit me, or anyone else. "Strength in numbers" is the mantra of the weak.

I think most here understand this

I never said it did, I simply made a comment as to the "common good". However, what's the old saying? The squeaky wheel gets the grease? Or in this case, greased? A bunch of people went whining to the administrator (feel free to substitute that as police, mayor, president, community organizer) about how they couldn't abide the actions of another. Actions that simply amounted to messages typed on an internet forum devoted to a brand of musical instruments and equipment. That person was then cast out. "The common good" prevails.

Personally, I never had a problem with the guy and actually had a couple of decent conversations. One thread of his was actually really cool. So how is his being banned "good" for me? What is meant by the "common good" is whatever the monster chasing villagers decry as an abomination.

Whatever though. Call it what you like. Grab your torches and pitchforks and head for the windmill. I'm not casting any aspersions on Brad's decision. His job and role here are clearly defined. Merely lamenting the loss of a board member.
