And maybe weird yes, but who isn't?

Sorry, I liked the guy.

He wasn't really technical. He just spouted a bunch of nonsensical BS and argued and personally attacked people who knew what they were talking about. Glad he's gone.

I have to agree with supro. It seemed like a lot of copying and pasting going on. I think one of the things that aggravated people, especially those with substantial knowledge is that he would respond to a newbies cry for help with "technical" information that was 180 degrees out of phase. When someone would correct him, out came the CAPS, the bold, the colours and so on.

I too was looking for an "Ignore" button. While I hate to see anyone booted from a forum, it got to the point where one had to literally wade through sewage to get to a correct answer to a technical question. And when working with any type of electricity, safety, and accuracy are at the top of the list. Also, the guitars we purchase today, although built rock solid like all Fenders, can be easily destroyed by following the directions of someone who does not know how to properly care for his own instruments.

Just my two cents worth. I tried to ignore him but he is the kind of in-your-face person...

Maybe there can be a way to "suspend" someone the first time around?

Art

Again, well put and my feelings as well. I hope he's reading all of this.

I agree with Brother Dave when he says the best bass forum is right here. Okay now I've killed the thread - right? :D

+1 On all that good stuff Art1 wrote.

Pretty sure Brads ensuring the many Pro's and knowledgeable folk who frequent these boards have the freedom to impart their expert advice without hindrance. I get the feeling his first post is a big nod those users.

There's plenty of room for banter and fun here, even controversial threads on religion and politics are rarely locked. They just fall off page 1 often without too much drama. A testament to the sound conduct of the vast majority who post here. 8)

( temp. hijack ).......Sock-It-To-Me.....Sock-It-To-Me....Sock-It-To-Me.........Laugh In....

I had Toppscore get on my build threads for a couple pages and just take up quite a bit of a couple pages and I had to reply back and forth which to some questions or comments were becoming redundant....
I found that getting him to stand down a bit took some maneuvering but it seemed a bit odd at times.....Not quite sure what was up with him, difficult to guess age, who he was or just at what level on the Fender scope he resided..
Was the gear pics he posted all his own or was it pulled off of the net and misleadingly made to seem as his own gear .... :?:
If the latter is the case than I would surmise that is enough then to get banned.

However when all is said and done, I would believe that Brad knows something we are not privy to...So be it....

I'm sure he's monitoring these comments, Toppscore that is. He's probably enjoying this, it was all about attention. With five pages, so far, he's loving every moment.

The longer this goes on, the curiouser I'm becoming as to what the final straw actually was.

I think most of us didn't believe he had all the gear he claimed. A lot of posting about that in the Vintage amp section. He claimed to have every guitar, every vintage amp, every modern amp, on and on. Plenty of pics, but as with most of us the background looks real. All his gear looked Staged, just something peculiar about it all. I would lean toward pulling pics from the net. What strikes me as way odd, is all this supposed gear he has, he never had a solid answer for anybody in the forum, just many many questions. I too have some questions about gear I own, but not rediculous, redundant, as some called in the threads, bloviated, questions. I would think one would at least know more about the gear he owns than the name.

Well...I certainly wouldn't say I've been an angel on all my posts, there were a couple where perhaps turning the page would have been a better choice...
However I do believe that a debate, a discussion or an argument ( in the truest sense and definition of the word ) is what a Forum is about. But when someone turns it into a personal attack due to a divergent viewpoint then a reply is necessary.
The trick is to outwit the offender so that their standpoint becomes a mockery ..

Yeah, it does. What's really depressing is, I remember hearing him do it the first time.

There is still the unanswered question as to who he really is and what was up.
Does any one recall MissSRV or Jake Ludwig or more recently Corpseknot.

In all those there was an underlying theme, a hint that a couple of doors might be unhinged.
( which I readily admit I'm at times loosely wrapped... )
But to the point that it becomes a bit disturbing and after a while, the suspicion that one cannot get a grasp on who the person is makes it so responses to posts become puzzling.
Especially when after what seemed like an innocuous reply, the poster goes ballistic...

But after a while one should be able to get an accurate grasp on who the person behind the moniker is, many of the members who have been here much longer than I are easy to quantify.
You know where you stand with them and there is no need for Spin.....

As often as the guy bought and sold amps I'd say he was into amps to make money. He had an ebay ad trying to sell a "stupid rare" amp for $15,000 but no one bid. He claims he sold it privately. Yeah... riiiiight.
