I never had any problems with him, and I'm by far the worst guitar player here.

No your not. We only tell you that to hurt your "Internet" feelings.

I found Toppscore to be an annoying know-it-all who felt compelled to post on almost every single thread on the Forum. I would go to the Strat Forum and I would see his name as the last poster on a dozen threads in a row, mostly two-liners of no value whatsoever. He was always posting pictures of guitars and amps pulled off the internet, especially ebay, and touting them as his own. He also had a very annoying habit of posting several times in a row on many threads, to no end but to up his need for a higher post count.

I am one geezer who is oh-so-glad that he is gone. Call me too sensitive or just insensitive, but he annoyed the crap out of me.

OK. I can do that.
You're insensitive!!
(Want me to call you a cab, too?)

Yah, I didn't see any of that stuff either.

I didn't really mind the guy. Sure he got out of line a couple of times, and he posted lots, but lots of his posts were actually helpful and informative. I'm not trying to disagree with Brad or anything, I just didn't see this coming.

I'm new here so my take may not have much meaning.

I would take him back.

I too sensed that English might not have been his first language, nor Earth his first planet.

I can't speak to what happened elsewhere, however he usually seemed fairly coherent in the bass forums, was confident in what he knew for sure and seemed curious about what he didn't know about Fender bass gear, especially vintage gear. He spoke in strange ways sometimes and I'm not completely sure that he always knew the exact meaning of what he was saying or realized that some of it could be taken more than one way.

As OxFan accurately stated, few musicians are exactly normal. I fully agree with that excellent point. I freely admit that I have made stupid posts, behaved poorly, misspoken under the influence of John Barleycorn and taken up valuable server space with mindless blather, although not since April of 2011.

I'm also an offender on posting in multiple threads in the bass and bass amp sections and sometimes will post twice in a row if I think of something else to say after the first post. I don't see anything wrong with either practice on the surface so long as you actually have something constructive or informative or even humorous to contribute every time. Often I'll think of something else to say and will post again instead of editing the first post because editing makes it looks like you may have redacted something.

It must be terribly hard moderating this forum. It is huge, has a massive member base and is very active with many threads to watch. Kudos to Brad for making sure this remains the most civil of the bass forums and the only one I am active in because of the general friendliness and civility of the community in general. By and large this is the best behaved forum I visit and the only one I post in as a general rule since I joined here. I consider myself fortunate to be a bass forum regular and certainly don't want to ever get expelled or banned or suspended. This forum is where my friends are!

I'm sure Brad's got enough to do without babysitting this forum. :P

re the first part, I've seen a few posts that were sad enough to report as soon as I saw them and Brad would take care of it. With viewers of all ages on these Forums you should hit the exclamation point if ever you see an inappropriate post, IMHO YMMV to quote my favorite Martian.

re the second part, you thought the same as me but I'm glad that it's Brad and not someone else.

You did the right thing Brad, this guy just appeared to get a charge out of rubbing people the wrong way.He would take the most innocuous comment or post and twist the meaning of what the O.P. really intended to convey just to draw them into an argument and then proceed to get offensive and obnoxious.

In recent months there seems to have a proliferation of mean spirited, insulting and even hurtful people on the Forum and they are about 100% newcomers, who most likely came here after getting the bum's rush from some other forum or forums. There is no room in this forum for people whose only goal is to cause a ruckus wherever they go.We always have had a very large degree of comraderie and many forum members have developed close and long term friendships because we all share a common bond and we all respect one another and we all make a conscientious effort not to be hurtful or insulting. Two people can have completely different views on a topic without lowering themselves to insults and namecalling.

There should be zero tolerence for people who don't care about the harm or hurt they may cause before hitting the "Submit" icon.

Brad, I apologize if I came off as questioning your judgement.
I was just surprised by it.

Judging the whole situation by the posts of those who have reason to complain about the guy. I'll go along with the majority. I didn't read every post of his, there were a ton of them.

With a situation like this it just shows the need for Forum members to police the Forums via the exclamation point. It would appear that Brad pays attention and acts accordingly.

There is one truth in the universe!

He wasn't really technical. He just spouted a bunch of nonsensical BS and argued and personally attacked people who knew what they were talking about. Glad he's gone.

I have to agree with supro. It seemed like a lot of copying and pasting going on. I think one of the things that aggravated people, especially those with substantial knowledge is that he would respond to a newbies cry for help with "technical" information that was 180 degrees out of phase. When someone would correct him, out came the CAPS, the bold, the colours and so on.

I too was looking for an "Ignore" button. While I hate to see anyone booted from a forum, it got to the point where one had to literally wade through sewage to get to a correct answer to a technical question. And when working with any type of electricity, safety, and accuracy are at the top of the list. Also, the guitars we purchase today, although built rock solid like all Fenders, can be easily destroyed by following the directions of someone who does not know how to properly care for his own instruments.

Just my two cents worth. I tried to ignore him but he is the kind of in-your-face person...

Maybe there can be a way to "suspend" someone the first time around?

Well put Art. That's exactly the problem I had with him.

Guess I haven't been around here long enough to see all of that.
