I may be off topic but I sometimes allways notice that musicians CAN mostly take everything too seriously about everything allways. It's like you can't make a snyde remark or make a little off humor or even have a sense of humor-- the next thing you know it's like you are offending . Thin skin and short fuses abound . So it's thin ice and walking on glass shards with alot of those too serious players. Thankfully some of us get to know each other and you can type stuff that doesn't get misrepresented. I know What's-his Face was kind of a dink but that probably got the super serious dudes all in an uproar fer sure. Are we trying to be World famous or what? So as soon as someone disagrees with someone about which amp blows with the Pookie speaker and wich bass licks because of flatwounds then oh man you better look out- one thing leads to another.

Yeah right! likely the same thing you said about Toppscore and anyone else who doesn't agree with you.

Funny thing is i notice that it's always the old fogies with an inferiority complex who carry on like this.

They think banding together on a forum and ganging up to crush one person and demonise them gets them some kind of kudos.

Think again it's not so.

I agree! There are other a-holes on here that are far worst! That is why I don't come here that often. Go ahead and ban me also! I'm not affraid! I'm American and I worked for Music Man and Fender back in the 70s. I have tons of Fender gear that I've purchased with my hard earned money! You'll never take that away from me. Why did you not just ban him and not mention it on a post? You most really hate the guy and, are just sucking $@! on all the yah-hoos that hate the guy too.

I don't really see anyone banding together. You did bring up some valid points. And some very good suggestions. But for some reason, you don't feel that you need to follow your own advise. What's up with that?

Yes, every couple of days somebody asks about string gauge or "where is V1?" why does my Tremolo tick? And that is because there are always new people joining the board. I'm sure many of those people were very insulted by "someone" who began spouting cut and pasted information about "reverb" not even coming close to the OPs question.

Another thing, every board recommends hanging around and learning the board etiquette and browsing existing posts(you might just find your answer.) Most people don't bother. Hence, they jump right in without learning anything about the culture of the board. Kinda like the Blues Brothers in a Country Bar. 8)

so hang around and watch. If you don't feel it from a particular board, go someplace else. If you don't feel it from any board .... Start your own.

So if you go into a board "against the grain" you probably will "Feel' like they are ganging up on you. Now, I'm off to read about your pick.

"So what about my post today about the problems with the pick for people with hand problems with grip. What'll i do with that? delete it? hmm!"

I don't think so for one... it was interesting.....

I seem to remember Topptwat also have huge issues with way to firm a grip on his pick..... Just Like Gorron.. :? ....Strange huh...... I'm sure there be many a better forum for you and your mate Topp, especially if here has no "influence or point in your life" what so ever.....

I'm sure Topp would have found another forum where he has a vice like grip on his pick once again.... Maybe you should see if that one can have a bit more pointed influence on your life Goroon??...

Just a suggestion.... :|

I know i shouldn't feed the donky.. .....Somethings just have to be said but huh........ :|

Ceri, my friend, you're always a gentleman. We've discussed all kinds of things, had disagreements but never resorted to name calling, personal digs or being obnoxious. If everyone could be like that, the forum would be great.

 Aw, shucks. Thanks, 63, much appreciated!

I don't even remember the disagreements. I'm sure they were polite and friendly. :)

All the best to you - C

Hi Paul: firstly, in short, I agree with everything you said. So that's that done and dusted. :D

On another note, it's interesting and pleasing to read that you've met other forum users in person. I rarely go so far south of the river that I end up in Peckham, but I have been seen on odd occasions in Ladywell, Catford and Balham. It would be great to meet up sometime. Let me know where you're playing next and I'll try and come along. Paul

Ah, my humble playing out days wound to a sensible armchair retirement a long time ago. You didn't miss much!

However, I love going to gigs - and I'm that handy kind of punter who isn't even looking for comps but is happy to pay for tickets. And if I remember an earlier thread of yours right, you play in a punk ukulele band - which sounds just too good to pass up! If you care to mention any upcoming shows me and the Missus would love to catch one, and maybe round up another Fender Forum user or two to bring along as well. How cool would that be?

However, something has to be cleared up first. I don't want to come on like a late night conversation with a cab driver, but beautiful Peckham (where the snow leopards roam) is all of a mile and a half south of the river. Two miles from Big Ben. We ain't exactly falling off the map! :D

Now Balham: that IS far. I think you need a passport for Balham, is that right...?

Cheers man, see you round - C

I have an idea.

Let's band together (as accused) and squeeze out the unwelcomely quoted one. Get him punted. This will do several things. It will provide the rest of us with some much needed rest from the incessant whinings of a dreary man. It will make him feel once and for all that he was always and is always right about everything including the idea that we can and will band together to oust people cuz we're so old and so frightened of heated discourse. It will fuel the flame wars on other boards when he has to go to them instead of coming here and eventually starts whining and making up stories about his treatment here, thereby attracting flamers from around the globe to those places and away from here because those places will be so much more interesting. Finally it will have an almost prophetic quality to it for the excitation of those who fearfully anticipate this year's winter solstice, coming soon to a December near you. All in all I think it would be a success on all fronts and in everyone's eyes.

Funny how they moan about these threads and say "i'm done!" and then the next thing you know they're back.
