i believe that Gorgon's definition of Argumentative and Argument aren't quite the same as the established definitions... Which by the IEP Argument is defined as....

" An argument is a connected series of statements or propositions, some of which are intended to provide support, justification or evidence for the truth of another statement or proposition. Arguments consist of one or more premises and a conclusion. The premises are those statements that are taken to provide the support or evidence; the conclusion is that which the premises allegedly support. "

It goes on and if any one wishes here is the link.....http://www.iep.utm.edu/argument/

An argument does not include personal or insulting points aimed at the divergent party or opponent. Again the Net is very much a reality and has precedent that insults and threats aimed at someone over the Internet are the same as if they were done in person...
This is a pointless argument to insist that life is what it is and lump it or shove off if you dislike the other person's point's of view or their insulting manner..

To suggest that if we don't like an obnoxious thread discussion then we shouldn't click in is an ignorant or completely dismissive stance of what this Forum is about....
It is a public Forum, it is not private since it does not require a selective password or whatever to enter. Any one can click on and read, the only requirement to be able to respond and discuss is to register which ensures tha the participant has agreed to the set parameters of conduct allowed here on the Fender Forum.....I fail to see where this is so complicated to understand.
Public means that there are older people here..  Young People, some quite young,
in their teens, parents, grandparents, as well as a veritable small society....
It's nice here, there are heated debates where if you are wrong then more often than not someone will prove as to why your premise is incorrect....Nothing wrong with that since it is what a Forum is about.......

As a Forum Member, I vote that if I feel you have overstepped the bounds of decency and civility, I will not hesitate to click on to Brad....I also stand by this if the table's are reversed, that is why this Forum works.
If you wish for an insulting argument and the rest of the nonsense that goes along, Please go to another Forum where you will feel at home amongst the carnage and the foolishly delusional .......

Toppscore screwed up and got shown the door, it's history and there isn't anything that you can say to change that, I'm willing to bet Brad knew some things that were not available to us as members or I should say guests on this " The Fender Forum ".
Since this Forum belongs to Fender and they have an image of respectability to uphold then certain rules on their Forum have to be abided by the members, if not then.... Bye..Bye....

Some people are aggravated by dangerous misinformation and half facts that are copied and pasted from other sites without any real understanding of amplifier repair or high voltage devices. That was the problem with him, then if you tried to correct him, he would spout a pile of garbage and insults at you. I'm unsubscribing to this thread too. Gorgon, I'm not getting into another silly argument with you. Seems like you just like defending people whether they're right or wrong. All I have to say is good riddance to him. Are you sure you're not topscore in disguise?

This thread really needs to be shut down.

Nothing to do with insults. if it was solely to do with that plenty of people would have been booted off of here. it was solely because certain members here took a dislike to Toppscore from other forums/places and perversely enjoyed winding him up on here. Then when he gave as good as he got he was the bad guy.

Arjay for instance: he was the one who started the demeaning insults in the thread quoted further back. Toppscore never said anything to start it.

There we have it. Facts are facts.

Those are NOT the facts. Sorry. I am only on one other forum besides this (well, actually the Tascam forum is extinct) and never met Toppscore before. Here lately, it was impossible to have a thread or conversation without him putting in his two cents (usually wrong.) Who knows how many guitars have been ruined or sold because of his comments. How many times has he given out hazardous advise about fixing amps? I lost count! When one of the real amp experts gives good, sound advise, he contradicts it!

The insults are an entirely different matter and should never happen. But they do. That's part of the "net experience." And Toppscore shouldn't be on forums if he can't take an occasional insult. Especially since he begs for them so often. JMO

Brad warned him that he was on thin ice and it made no difference.

Let's give it a rest before insults start flying, huh?

+1k Supro....

Here's a chart to consider!

Before turning this thread into a 20 Page pity fest on someone who lowered the participation level on 70% of the threads and abused most of the experienced people on here willing to help.

I'm sure if you've taken time to read the current new post menu, and reply's to threads you will have found, "especially if you have a intermediate level of knowledge like me" the level of information back in the last days has two folded. Instead of every thread going nowhere at mach 1, for 8 hours a day, of Topptwat flooding 80% of the threads with incessant babble.....I totally agree with internet should police itself, with personal barneys, not with flooding and ruining a forum....... Obviously so does Brad, history would lead us to believe, which is a good thing!!..... Thanks Brad you made the perfect call!!

NOW refer back to the chart before posting..... :|

And guess what....I cut and pasted this chart......

It's like this: if all the children in the sandbox agree to play a game and then there is one guy who wants to play a totally different game all by himself, it's going to create trouble.

There was no "argument" going on. Toppscore just decided to jump into every thread and spread his nonsense.

Cheers

David

You want facts, sport?

Fine.

If you care to click on your compadre's stats and go all the way back to page 158 of his archived posts, you (and anybody else who cares to know the truth) will discover that when he first joined this forum his behavior was pleasant and amiable, and I (along with everyone else you've attempted to castigate) tried to answer his questions and provide honest help to his specific problems. As his time here wore on, his demeanor changed -- he became contentious, then argumentative, and finally downright obnoxious. He quibbled over anything and everything -- from time-held conventions about electronic theory to standard industry manufacturing and safety protocols. No bone was too small for him to pick, whether from a statement I made or someone else's. It did not matter, he craved only the drama of attention. That you grieve for this clown's forcible exile is of absolutely no import to me. But you -- like him -- apparently do not have a clue as to what a "fact" is.

Go read it yourself, mister gorgon.

Arjay

I wouldn't go pointing the "bad guy" finger at Arjay, he has been nothing but helpful to those who have genuine interest, or concerns. Topp pissed on a few of my threads too, without provocation. I've seen it get progressively worse the last month or so, to where it became impossible to get through a legitimate thread without topp's nonsense. It wasn't only Arjay he seemed to have issue with, I'm thinking perhaps Topp is still here under a different name, I don't see antbody else rushing to his defense like you sir. This thread for me is DONE, and at this point is an utter waste of time.

well its a bit high now..... but in 10 years it may be more practical.
I just think its an interesting direction. even if it was cheaper it still probably doesn't work all that well considering it will be inside a guitar that's inside a case and also in the closet or trunk of the thief..... but its a nice idea. especially if you have a really expensive instrument.
